Congratulations!
Kids can be a handful, but they are very impressionable, even in the teenage years. Just a few misplaced words can leave them with a powerful impression. It happened to me, and I was left with bigotry toward the mentally ill that did not become manifest until last year. A stern talking to from one of my cross-country teammates knocked that out of my system.
From what I've read, you'll be sleepless for about a few months. Then, relative peace for a year and a half, after which the Terrible Twos set in. At this point they will know how to walk and talk, and will use both to the fullest. Once you teach them to respect others, (remember, respect, not fear) you'll enjoy another 7-9 years of peace and harmony. At that point puberty sets in, and all bets are off.
Enjoy your time together, and remember, you only get one chance at it.
