WoW was fun but became redundant. Dungeon dungeon dungeon BG BG dungeon etc. I came in the game to late to get into a good raiding guild so i ended up quitting. The game takes some skill but is still very very simple. Want an MMO that takes Skill go play Age of Conan. The Millions of bugs and lack of content ruined it at launch but it is free to play now and has alot of content and most of the bugs have been fixed. The kiddys don't like it because of the combo system actually takes some skill. AH by far is the GAME that takes the most skill tho. It takes months and months to get good at this game. I played nearly everyday for 2 years and couldn't touch my old Squaddys Levi, Stang, Morph, Nath, Furby, Dedalot, Superdud, and the rest....

As a 70 during BC was there anything more fun than getting your key for Kara and running through with a great 10 man crew?
WoW gave me a lot of great times but after 5 years it grew old.

Guild Wars 2

Can't wait for this.  Loved GW but have been inactive since they did away with team arenas and my various builds for the underworld became obsolete.

I hate Kara after running it so many times.  By the end, we would zerg the place as fast and hard as we could to see how quickly we could finish it.  I think we managed to get a full clear down to under an hour, all of us gritting our teeth and destroying the place to spite it.

EvE > WoW

Have they finally fixed it to where the game won't lock up and the server node die a horrible gasping death of anguish and frustration when 200 people warp in on 200 other people?

That's really what turned me off of EvE and over to WoW.  Everything I built, everything I worked for getting destroyed not because of other players, but because I would bring 300 friends to a fight, as opposed to them having 100 friends, the server node crashing, and their 100 getting back online and getting free shots off before we could.

As for WoW.  WoW is done.  The new expansion is going to see people leaving in droves.  Cataclysm screwed up so much and imbalanced PvP so badly that a million players abandoned the game.  With the new expansion... At least that will probably be gone when it comes out.  It says alot that you have to bribe people with Free Diablo 3 to play WoW for another year.
"We don't like cookie cutter specs, so we're completely getting rid of talent trees and you get you pick of 1 of 3 choices per 15 levels.  There no more cookie cutter specs. Even though the whole point behind not liking cookie cutter specs is that we want people to be able to have choices in their talents and we hate that someone with the ability to add more than 1+1 can find the most effective spec for that role. And thus force everyone who wants to actually be successful in any way to use that same spec."
"The new expansion will be focused entirely on a joke race that we had in Warcraft 3.  Instead of following up the storylines that we established in Cataclysm, y'know with the unresolved Gilneas front, the unresolved Scourge front, the unresolved Vash'ir front, the whole Azshara storyline still to go.  The return of the Titans and the continuing fight with the burning legion... no... We're not even going to resolve the troll issues that we brought up in the last patch because we wanted to redo Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman. We're going to completely make up a new race, and a new class WHEN WE CAN'T EVEN FIX THE CLASSES WE HAVE, and we're constantly complaining of the complexety and difficulty of balancing all the classes so we're going to add another one."
And the worst part... the guy who's supposed to be writing the damn story for the whole thing doesn't even know what the hell is going on inside his own game.

I've been playing Blizzard games for 15 years now...  With all this crap they've been pulling. They've lost me as a customer forever.

I've been playing Blizzard games for 15 years now...  With all this crap they've been pulling. They've lost me as a customer forever.

Sony lost me as a customer forever because of how they destroyed EQ1, but WoW hasn't gone that far off the deep end... that I know of anyways.  I agree with one thing though, the game started to lean downhill when they added a "pretty" race to the Horde, and then they saw how "successful" that was.  So they added more races and a class that could beat everyone else.  And pretty much left it unbalanced for an entire expansion.  When they can't balance the classes they have now, when they added paladins to the Horde and Shamans to the Alliance because they couldn't figure out how to balance those, when the history of MMORPGs are littered with examples of poor class balancing, it makes me mad as hell to see them adding more classes.  Its a money grab that is only a sound business practice when looked in the short term.

On the other hand, Blizzard has pulled off the "impossible" in the past, and they don't usually make major mistakes twice.  Whatever happens, I hope they learn their lesson before their secret MMO project unrelated to current projects comes out.  That game, seeing as it isn't restricted to any previous lore and can take advantage of all the lessons learned without needing to retcon half the game, has the potential to be to WoW what WoW was to EQ.  I didn't hear anything about it from coverage of this year's Blizcon, so I guess we have to wait a while longer for it.

Speaking of Blizcon, this is worth a look: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1752/1/

The comments are usually more entertaining than the pictures, and the pictures are pretty dang funny.

Well sure it was boring at the end, but what isn't? When it was knew to me and most of our group it was a blast.
Blizz gave me and my guild friends many good times, Kara was one.

I really enjoyed BWL, AQ20, and Black Temple back in the day.  Kara never really did it for me, probably because it felt a bit too random (monsters in a basement here, robot boss there, chess board here, demon over there, bone dragon on the balcony, some other dragon randomly in another room, opera ghosts, etc).  Maybe I never quite got the lore of the place, but looking at it from a non-lore perspective, it felt like they threw everything but the kitchen sink into that instance without much rhyme or reason to it.  Still, the fights themselves were pretty fun.  Shade of Aran was a real idiot check.

I have no idea, all I know is a few expansions past Luclin it was a pale imitation of the game it was before.  I left during the expansion with all the dungeon and mob names that were unpronouncable.  Which was also when WoW went open beta.
