I get that. I've never had the nads to do one of the jets. Nowhere close to building and flying one anyway. Heck, .40-.46 sized planes are about the largest that I like anyway. Honestly, my favorite plane to fly is a 12 year old Kadet LT40. I've trained probably 30 people how to fly RC on it and I can take it up and twist it in whatever direction the sticks will let me without ever even thinking about losing control. It isn't fast or sexy, heck I covered it in Pink and White in honor of my oldest daughter (who is almost 16 now) shortly after she was born, but I can fly it in nearly any weather however I want and I probably wont crash it unless something finally fails physically. There can be great fun in easy mode!
Agreed 100%! I talk about my jets etc a lot because I love flying them, and love the adrenaline rush from flying them, but I also have a 25 year old "miss texas" which is a slow flying low wing sport plane, about a 6 foot wingspan, low powered, but sooo relaxing to fly. My dad and I scratch built it as my 2nd plane, after my trainer. Still fly it on an old supertiger 60 blue head! Its actually my last remaining nitro bird, everything else is gas, turbine, or electric, but the Miss Texas is so much classic RC that I am hesitant to convert it to electric, though I have considered it severl times, just cant bring myself to do it..
