LMAO. Why would they like American cars? Lets take a look at the list above;

Seriously. No-one cares about American cars in Europe. They use too much gas, are poorly made and cost too much.
Actually, Europeans love American Muscle. I believe it was car&driver who took the mustang, Challenger, and camaro on a european tour. While out, they said whenever they parked somewheres, they had eruopeans gawking the muscle cars the same way americans gawk at the suped up riceburners from japan.

They even had a guy offer to trade his Porshe 911 for their challenger.

I don't think They hate American cars,  Jeremy loved that ZR1 after he got tired of making fun of the plastic rear end.  As far as the CTS's go, I've seen quite a few problems with the caddy motors.  Broken intake valve spring, and a cam phaser issue in another.  The V's however don't have the issues, becouse they are Gen III/IV LS engines not caddilac. Not impressed with the regular CTS's but the V's are a completely different animal.

Actually, they don't. People looked at them because they were different, because they hadn't seen them before, because no-one drives them. It's something they saw in a movie once, no something they would own. Europeans want MPG not BHP.

LMAO. Why would they like American cars? Lets take a look at the list above;

mustang - They gave a good revieworiginally, they didn't. it was only on that blog thing that i saw a really good review of the stang, against the camaro and challenger.
camaro - is built on an Australian chassisyep
corvette - the one they were given to test literally fell apart within 5 lapsi would imagine it fell apart, due in part to some similar circumstances as the tesla didn't make 50 miles in their possession before the batteries died.
cadillac cts - just doesn't compare to it's competition -Audi A4 and BMW piss all over it in every department.a4..... :rofl :rofl i could run down a list of the crap i've replaced on them, long before it should've gone bad. including the flex pipe today, on......an a4.  :rofl :rofl
dodge challenger - is poohsorta correct. it is a stunningly beautiful car, and the srt will perform very well. it is overpriced though. that should make it fit in with most german stuff.  :devil

Seriously. No-one cares about American cars in Europe. They use too much gas, are poorly made and cost too much.

The basic Mustang is crap. Clarkson actually likes the Mustang as long as it is a proper one like the Roush version.

 am i the only one that noticed the car he was driving was a 6 cylinder automatic?

 and the bullit replica he drove? does he REALLY think it was called the gt390, for horsepower reasons?

jeeze....c'mon dood........those are old. 4.6 liter? c'mon. get with the times. at least go for the 5 liter. while the 4.6 liters could easily be built to over 700hp, they sucked from the factory. the 5 liter on the other hand........

here's the hampster playing with a gt500...i think it's an 05. again, he doesn't know what the gt500 is for....and it's not for the horsepower. i think they found it to be in the 420hp range on that 4.6 liter. not bad for an engine only rated at 450.

 the new gt500's use supercharged 5.4's rated at 540hp.

I'm a Top Gear fan, for the comedy not the cars.

The ironic thing about Clarkson ragging on Americans is the theme music for his own show is... ... classic American rock.  He does it all in good nature though, and he seems to pick on the Germans, French, Albanians and Australians just as much.

It's simple. If American muscle cars were wanted in Europe, by Europeans, they'd build them there. They don't because no-one would buy one. Ford and GM apparently agree because they have absolutely no intention of making muscle cars for a European market.

 i've only worked on an older one...i think it was an 01 or 02? i honestly thought it was a bmw engine in there. the suspension was crap on this one, but that was only due to the fact that the owner had let it go to that point.

You should probably not participate in such a discussion unless you've actually been to Europe and seen how devoid of American cars it is. Literally the only American car I saw over there was the Ford KA, which is a little hatchback that they don't even sell domestically (which makes sense, the market is totally different). While it may be a bit different in Britain, they honest-to-goodness don't like American cars over there.
