Actually, they don't. People looked at them because they were different, because they hadn't seen them before, because no-one drives them. It's something they saw in a movie once, no something they would own. Europeans want MPG not BHP.

I'm not sure about the rest but there are a lot of camaros exported to europe and the middle east.

cant speak for all of europe obviously but Tinman has it about right and Tyrannis has plainly never been here.

some UK base prices:

Camaro £32k ($51k)
Corvette C6 £53k ($85k)
Corvette Z06 £68k ($110k)
Challenger £42k ($67k)
Shelby GT500 £49k ($75k)

now bear in mind that something like this for £15k ($24) will be quicker and more fun on our UK roads:

Yes there are tiny narrow roads over there for sure.

That ought to teach them Europeans not to let the Romans build their roads.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

Don't forget Jeremy liked that Ford Fiesta. A fantastic car for evading Corvette driving baddies whilst in a shopping centre, as well as making a splendid beach assault craft.

one thing we really do like over here is seeing the corvettes racing in FIA GT races, those race-tuned V8s rumble like thor having a workout session with his war hammer :rock

edit: and dont forget the reasonably priced car is a chevy! :lol

i kinda felt sorry for them, as they were probably under orders to be polite, and professional. i'd imagine that the "higher ups" viewed that as a most excellent recruiting tool.

i also had a blast watching the episode where he was runnning away from a challenger? tank, in i think a hopped up mitsubishi....which they eventually set on fire in the end. i think those army guys enjoyed themselves much more than the royal marines did.  :devil

got top gear on right now. just watched the stig drive the ascari around their track.

where the<insert american car name here> is always "massively oversteering", or "look at what happens when you use a whacking great girder with a tire on either end", the ascari was "beautifully controlled, and look at the stig kick the back end out".  :rofl :noid

light car, highly developed and expensive chassis. it should handle well, especially at that price ...
