I checked out some youtube vids of that laser. Sweet laser system ya got there shuffler. Any idea what wavelength it uses or what the lasing medium is? My guess would make it a Nd:YAG laser with a IR output.

I am an Aviation mechanic (in training). I'm working to get my A&P. I'm loving every minute of it.

I'm in one of the worst off counties in the state but our mill is doing okay. It's actually a pallet factory, so we're relatively safe. We cut logs all the way down to 2x4's and 4x1/2's and can put out roughly 1000 pallets a day. Working conditions are kinda' lame but you've gotta' either suck it up or walk. There's an almost endless list of guys out here looking for work so the supervisors here don't care if you run out of Vagisil.

The town I live in is pretty lifeless but there's still money to be made, just not for everyone.

I used to know a guy who did well in day trading...and his schtick was....he regularly used to call on a plethora of box making companies..and pallet making companies..to find out how business was.  he considered those two industries as Bell Weather industries ....that could tell him 90 in advance..if his manufacturing stocks would be going up...or down in the near future...and he'd bet accordingly.  I always thought that was an interesting strategy.

I had a good time taking the training in a small Jr College in AZ. for my A&P. I knew I loved working on engines but was really surprised that doing the sheet metal and riveting was enjoyable as well. Not having any skill at making "art" I didn't expect to be good at it but the work just drew me in. It is nice doing a fabricating job from scratch with nothing but a concept. My first "paying job" task after training was to design and make a mount for an ELT on a Bonanza with a fussy owner. Nothing but hand tools and a small metal brake.

Working for the best engine guy on the field was a great way to find out about the workings of the engines. A fantastic intro to the A&P program. It is a wonderful feeling to start up one you just built and know you are going to fly the bird on it's break in. You can't help going through the entire rebuild in your mind on the way to the runway.

I work for myself. It's awesome. I have played violin for 10 years, viola for 4, bagpipes for 3, trombone for 3, trumpet for 2, tuba for 1, and I'm trying to pick up the guitar. how the heck do you guys play more than 2 notes at a time???

I am in a string quartet, and we make a bit of money. Not much, but enough. We tend to play weddings, receptions mostly.

Bagpipes... funerals and graduations mostly, but I've done a few weddings before.

EMT Emergency Medical Technician

Basically, I show up and provide medial care of people during some of the worst days of their lives and I do all this while moving a several MPH in bouncing ambulance enroute to a hospital.

The hardest part of my job is the dealing with the "worst days of ones life and not the gory stuff that seems to shy many away from my line of work. The spouse that lost their significant other of 50 or 60 years, the parents nearly or losing a child, or the child losing a parent, and the worst of all the passing of an infant who never had a chance to start their life.

Also on the side I have a small renovation business that does property maintenance, rental property prep, and remodeling work.

Same, except 2 more years in school then RAAF. I basically live on base anyway, and I've flown out of RAAF bases before plenty of times.

In the meantime, I'm employed as a casual worker for a freight company.
