Fixed pitch prop too, so it overspeeds in a dive.  The engine breaks at about 160mph, a bit after you lose the outer wings.

So...sounds like you fly it like a 172 with super flaps and slats.

Should really be a lot of fun.

Takes damage like a 172 as well.  A quarter second burst from the two 7.7mm guns on an A6M3 to the fuselage from behind will down one just about every time.

I can see it know defenders see a large raid comeing in on radar the up to attack then the dots are gone then someone calls Storches on the deck and as everyone dives for an easy kill they forget the Storch is doing 110 and there doing 400+ the tower is going to be a busy place

I can't wait to make it dance when a Pony is burning up on reentry to get a measly "kill"

I've already seen that first hand in the beta server.  I was in a Storch (pronounced STORK, not STOR"CH"!!!) and was able to stay live while having a 109G-14 w/20mm's and P51D try and BnZ me.  I was badly tore up and missing a wing tip, but was able to avoid them both for quite some time.  All I did was turn hard to the right and stay at or *below* tree top level.  I peppered them both with 8mm MG fire and was awarded a kill on 1 of them when he tried to eat a tree and the other gave up and RTB'd.  :aok   The other thing is if people are that hungry for a kill and they pay too much attention on trying to get the kill on a Storch they will only become a piece of meat for an enemy fighter to chew on.

It doesnt take much to bring a Stork down, but getting enough hits on target is going to be the issue.  Think of how hard it is trying to shoot down a hard turning IL-2 while in a 550mph Me262.

Nah... I'd say more like trying to hit a hard diving-turning DRI with a 550pmh 163.

Maybe..?

And why do I see this plane being used as bait?

Up 4 or 5 Storchs, and then a BIG raid behind them? :D

A wing tip?  Are they implementing the WWI damage models?
