Interesting image I was looking at. Some of these AC I never saw before, but sure some of you have. Perhaps shed some light on them for some of us.

Exhibit #1  Ar 234?


Exhibit #2  This is interesting, what is it?


Exhibit #3  They are doing it wrong if trying to make a P-38 look a like.


Exhibit #4  I know that this is a Ar 234C, but what the bloody hell is that under it?


Exhibit #5  They are on a CV.  Looks like a Me 262 and He 219.


Exhibit #6  Hard to tell what AC this is, especially with a signal, what it appears to be a 20mm.


Exhibit #7  Love to see a Me-262 with a 50 mm (2 in) MK 214 (or BK-5) anti-tank gun in nose.


Exhibit #8  It dose not look like the D-9, but never side I am never wrong.


Exhibit #9  What kind of weapon system is this?


Exhibit #10  Me-262 with a glass nose?  What was this used for?

It does and what I first thought. However, the canopy does not stick up like that, and each boom have two set of wheels (side by side). Only info i read about the 109Z was that four where made, never flew and non where armed with a gun on the tail fin.

According to wiki (I know), the H3 had the ability to mount an MG 15/17 in the tail.  It would not surprise me if they mounted a 20mm in a few of them as well but it would more than likely be something done to a very few planes.  The MG option would likely have seen the most use.  While not too clear on what variant they started allowing this option, there is no mistaking the tail.  That sexy, sexy tail...

Nothing special about that one. That IS a MG 17 in pic #6. No 20mm cannon there.

A bomber version?

Hitler had asked if the 262 could carry bombs. He was assured it could. He had visions of mass 262 raids on factories with 262s that could not be intercepted because of their speed.

When he was ready to put his idea into play, he asked how many were available that could carry bombs.... the answer was none. He ordered all 262s to be able to carry bombs and that is one thing that slowed production. He was his own worst enemy.

The aircraft on the carrier were the ones transported AFTER WW2 by the US back over here for testing and evaluation. Nothing new there but it is an interesting picture to say the least. If I remember correctly the planes were coated with a protective paint/coating to keep them from corrosion from the salt spray and air while in transit.
