So even though on my computer screen I avoided the collision by 10ft and on your computer screen you saw/suffered a collision, you think that I should be killed/damaged also; even though I saw myself flying through empty air?

It has been said many times by even hitech himself, the current collision model is the fairest way to handle collisions in game until such a time that internet lag is completely eleminated.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

True and good idea. Still, it is unrealistic that two planes collide at 300mph and one flys off without hardly any damage. Come on!

You need to understand the internet.

Actually ramming a plane is much harder to do than you think. At least in my opinion. And I used to try to ram enemy planes in the Training Arena when they would venture near Bishop's A1, the main training base. Of course that was before I was accepted into the AH Trainer Corps and I got to use that wonderful .eject command. Of course now they most likely use .ground [gameID] instead.

but I am tired of getting in collisions

I know that WW2 pilots didnt like AAA or enemy fighters either. Should we do away with those too? How about fuel and ammo limits? sunglare? How about instead we get rid of the in-flight 360 degree dot radar instead? you know, something that actually is gamey and completely unhistorical. You want a dar update? ask a player in the tower.   :bolt:

when i started playing the game i would ram and try to ho every single plane i saw.  it was the only way i could get kills.  I quickly discovered that the 109 had a higher chance of surviving a head on crash that any other plane.  now i just ho and try to avoid a ram unless i am out of ammo and the other guy needs to go down.

but as annoying as getting hit by a plane that flies away undamaged now  It would be a bad idea to remove collisions.  for one i use those for those pesky planes that think the safest thing is to do is ho a b26.  I just aim at them pull the trigger till they are either dead then ram them just to make sure, i survive about 95% of all collisions.  and most damage is from bullets and not the collision itself

you dont want me to ho, dont point your plane at me.

Lol semp....

Can you imagine of collisions were off....  a 262 guns blazing flys wingtip to wingtip through a B17 wrecking havoc on all the components as it flys through the wire frame.  lol... I would not have lost that 262 on Saturday if that were the case....

I managed to bring down a Ju-88 with a collision once.  I caught his right wing with my right vertical stabilizer, we both lost the piece that got hit in the collision.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

I have found if I don't run into stuff I don't take damage.  Pretty simple really, though difficult to understand to some.

Hamrdown, I take damage from collisions about once a month.  My secret is to avoid them.  Sure, it happens, but if happening to you more than once in a while, the issue isn't the game, it's your flying style.

The AK's are flying knights this month, so if you would  like, look me up, and we can go to the TA and I can help you learn to avoid things.  I'll be on this evening for a bit.  My in game name is AKMeathd.
