>>I'd love to see a "Master Commander" in charge of the war for each country. They would be in charge of putting missions together that would eventually "win the war". <<

Unfortunately, we already have a few dozen per side that exhibit the 'leadership traits' of spoiled children on a tantrum.  Not within the scope you envision but more than willing to brow-beat "new players" (new or not) but less than willing to actually inspire.  :D

The DHBG (Dickweed Heavy Bomber Group) has long been known as a High Altitude Heavy Bomber Group.
We fly with or without escorts depending on there availability. Not every fighter squadron can commit to
a High Altitude Mission so we have to fly "high" and hope for a successful outcome. Our goal is to work on
formation flying, staying tight, hitting targets and returning as many bombers home safely as we can. I
have attached some screenshots from our perspective so that you can get a better idea of the fun we
have above 28,000 ft. (Sometimes it goes to 35,000 when we are massed by Me163's over the HQ)

TYPICAL FORMATION CLIMBING TO TARGET

LOOKING DOWN ON THE FORMATION AS IT APPROACHES THE STRATS

ROOKS DEFEND AS THE DHBG HIT THEIR STATS(NOTICE OUR ESCORTS AND THEIR ME163'S)

TYPICAL TEXT BUFFER AS WE HIT OUR TARGETS

NOTICE THE FUEL DEPOT DAMAGE IN PLATES 3 & 5

SOMETIMES WE GET SHOT UP PRETTY BAD BUT TO LAND ONE OF THESE IS OUR REWARD

WE FLY EVERY WEEK IN THE MAIN ARENA... WHAT EVER SIDE YOU ARE ON "JOIN THE FUN!"

If people knew what bombing the repercussions for bombing the strats was, they may think differently.   ;)

Last tour, I did my best bombing run against a strategic industrial complex.  In a flight of B29's loaded with the 40/500 lb bombs.  I damaged the city down to %51 and the ammo factory to %58.  I think I made a total of 8 passes at 23,000 ft.  Only 1 enemy fighter came up to play and it didnt last very long.   ;)

Most people do not know that the city is the turn key.  Damage that and the damage to the factories actually take hold for an extended period of time.  In turn, that extends the standard repair time at the bases thanks to the resupply convoys being less effective.   :aok

Except if it's not under 50% it's as though nothing happened to it at all.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Honestly, if it wasn't for that 12hr side switch thing, I'd jump sides to join you on such a mission instantly.  Then there is the other thing....

Guy 1: Why is there a Claim Jumper on our side???
Guy 2: They are probably spying.

You know....the usual BS. :bhead

When do you guys usually fly these Strategic Missions?  I always seem to miss out on them. :(

I have done it, online. I salvoe'd my bombs in two passes to keep the impact area as small as possible.

OR you can reduce your airspeed to a minimum so all your bombs fall on the same spot

Not just a gaggle of noe bombers... but a formation fighting it's way to the factories at high altitude:

The Dickweed Heavy Bomber Group on the way to the target.

I read on country channel that going up that high to face them is a "waste of man power". Well, this game is nothing but a waste of lifetime in the first place!  :P

:salute to my k/h wrecking opponents!

Six, but I was very lucky that day getting several kills by damaged bombers being finished off by someone else.  :D
More notable was my sortie length, which was getting close to 90 minutes  :airplane:

The picture I posted above was taken when I first encountered the formation and circled slowly around it just to enjoy the view.  :rock

My favorite part of the game, either bombing or escorting.  I'm Rook this month with VMF-222, so am I friendly or enemy ?

Either way, pretty sure you will see me !

It is a great sight. I've have been fortunate enough to be in a similar situation a few times. If played well, the opportunity to line up and shoot at at several formations on a sigle pass is quite a thrill. Especially with them all shooting at you. I think "Geez am I going to last long enough to even get a shot off."  then as you blow through them and start hitting some of them hard you think, "Why didn't I bring an A-8?!" Great stuff.  :salute

Awesome Sauce!  I'll see if I can sneak over to your side for the mission. :x  Question though, do you all use a specific map for hitting the Capital?  Reason I'm asking is because I currently use wrongway's strat maps that he made a while ago, and want to know if I should be searching for another set of maps. :aok

We have our own setup. We fly in formations and your target varies depending on what stick you are placed in.
