Join the 17thBG (M) !!We are sculpted after the real 17thBG (M) of the USAAF In honor of our past veterans. In World War II, the 17thBG (M) was one of a very few groups that could say they fought in the Pacific, North African and European Theatre's. The 17th was the first group designated as “Medium” bomb group and can trace its roots back to the beginning of military aviation for the USA. The group attained the name “Daddy of them All”, yet most famous for “Doolittle’s Raiders”.
Who we are: We have moved over from another game where the 17thBG was one of the longest running, most successful bombing groups in that game. We pioneered strategic bombing in that game. We are mature players who enjoy portraying missions as a group, using tactics that where employed by the real USAAF. We play to have fun and enjoy watching the explosions from our ordnance dropped. We've adapted the motto “17thBG (M) Toujours Au Danger-Ever into Danger”. Of course as we launch ever into danger we always fly with Fighter Escort provided by the 78th Fighter Group. The 78th FG is made up of great players who are the best little friends a Bomber Group could have.
What types of missions: We plan and organize our missions for Medium Level Strategic Bombing and Tactical Bombing. We fly the aircraft the real 17thBG (M) group used: B-25C, B-25H, and the B-26B. (Occasionally, we plan missions with heavy bombers)
Who are we looking for: Officers, Pilots and crew members that are mature, who enjoy flying planned missions in formation. Those who enjoy fling both medium and heavy bombers.
Where can you find us: Late War Arenas on the Bishop side. We use a Team Speak, as well as in game voice Channel 178 for communication.
When can you find us: Every night of the week between 6 and 10 pm EST. Our official missions are held every Thursday and Sunday nights starting at 8pm. Missions are done on other nights, but only when there are enough Pilots on to do so.
