Liked it but I can't say it was everything I've been waiting for but really, can anyone?

I remember seeing the 1st one in 3rd grade and being scared to the point of not being able to sleep too well for a while.  Luckily after about 3 weeks I started talking again and stuff.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

that movie is so bad I have trouble pointing what is worst.

No characters, bad acting, stupid and predictable plot. By showing too much it's not even scary. The link with alien is strung out at best, if not illogical.

Special effects are ok but are not advancing the story one bit. The design is made to look cool by modern standards, but with the story happening before alien is not credible one bit. As others pointing out, the "scientific" stuff is just laughable, the reactions totally stupid.

What a huge disappointment.

            Mine sure is!

*SPOILER*

As for the movie, one glaring problem I had in it was the size of the alien beings(humanoid). In Alien they sure looked a whole lot bigger from my memory. The other problem, the alien humanoid should have been attacked by a hatchling Alien and impregnated, then died in his seat with the newly borne Alien bursting from his chest as shown in the movie Alien. He shouldnt have been killed by the Alien at the end like he was.

PS  Theron should have watched more Road Runner cartoons. The Coyote ran in a straight line when a heavy wheel rolled after him. She should have side stepped.

Obviously theres going to be more of the story told in sequals. And no doubt had Wild E Coyote done a sidestep the spaceship would have decided to tip over on THAT side he stepped into. She had it coming anyway even if she's easy on the eyes.

Remember the Alien series happened on a different planetoid in the same star system. Prometheus and Alien did not happen on the same planetoid so obviously theres more to the story.

It was kind of a letdown, considering how good Alien was.  The effects were great but the story was uninspiring and seemed like a big budget version of a teen slasher movie.  Still can't figure out what the beginning scene had to do with the rest of the movie.  And the alien that comes out at the end looks like lame cgi and showing it in bright lights takes away all that made the original scary.  It was mildly entertaining but like Alien3 and everything afterwards, I only need to see it once.  :(

My interpretation was that it was where the first DNA was introduced to that planet ( presumably earth ).  The fellow consumed the ooze and then had a DNA breakdown.. and new DNA was formed in its place.    That also implies the race was around a LONG time ago, if that was the source of evolution.

Just saw the nearly four-hour long Furious Gods: Making Prometheus documentary. How the movie was made is almost more amazing than the movie itself. A lot of what I thought was CGI was in fact some of the most amazing prosthetic, makeup and animatronics I've ever seen. The "Engineer" the alien creatures, the huge sets were all... well... real. They used the largest film stage in Europe and enlarged it by a third to fit their largest sets, which were more than 300 feet long!

If you get the opportunity to see this documentary I recommend it wholeheartedly.
