Really? I had no problems finding people with my old system  on the verge of death before I spent 600 bucks total for  a system I put together myself that now handles the game on max.

Yup.  Really.  Quite often less is more when it comes to no icons.  Bigger dots/less details quite often makes it as easy or easier to find them.  Antialiasing, texture sizes, monitor quality and all kinds of other things can make it easier/harder to see that dot among the ground pixels.

Friend, I played no icons for years in the other sim.  I know exactly whereof I speak.  I'm sorry you think the ability to spot a dot equates to 'manly' or 'skilled'.

I'll back Lusche up on that.  The same kind of things drove me out of the CT, the prior name of the AvA.  And I didn't just give it a shot or two.  I was a member of the 27th Sentai and there at the very start of the CT/AvA to try and make it work.

AvA is great fun. . .just need to get the 'leet' pilots to fly there and create a culture of AvA.  I am hoping that as MA gets worse and worse in terms of all the crappy gameplay, a few good pilots will put energy into the AvA and get a few of us to join in. . . but that is going to be tough.

OK I have seen 1 or 2 guys  act like dbags  thats true but for the most part its way more laid back in there than the MA, when was the last time you tried it? Sorry if  the 'girly ma that I ment as a playful chide directly to INK offendeed you Lusche, but I really think you made a mountain out of a mole hill on that., and I challege you to make a piechart detailing the increas or decrease in MA whine threads in the past few year. I didnt mean YOU yourself have daily whine threads I meant to BBS in general. You chose to make everything about YOU directly.

To be honest, I haven't tried in awhile. When I was trying it out, I was getting HOed, and ganged. I figured why was I wasting what little time I get playing in there when I can get the same thing in the Mains, but have more targets. It just wasn't worth the trouble.

Its not always gonna be 1v1's but  when asked people will stay out and of course ho's will happen from time to time  when you are flying 2 pretty equal planes  sometiumes its the only shot and some are going to take it  on the 3rd  head to head.

The "elitist slobberdonkey" crap is way higher in the AvA.  A lot more judgmental about one's choice of aircraft than the already judgmental MAs.  I have also found the setups to be very biased in regards to what it an acceptable substitution with the only generally balance settings being USAAF vs Luftwaffe.  Other settings generally being intended to favor the USAAF, USN or Luftwaffe.  Inappropriate ubstitutions such as adding the Brewster against the Japanese, taking away their one performance advantage, or using the long retired Spitfire F.Mk IX in place of the Spitfire LF.Mk IXe when we have that very aircraft are all too common.
