HI Skuzzy. thanks for the response.  I did notice that my host queue had cleared up considerably.  I am now reflecting a  very small sawtooth straight line during the hours between 7:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. (mostly when I am on-line).  I did not appear to have any lag during this period of time. :salute

You need to address BT about the packet loss within the BT network.  Not much I can do there and until it is cleared up it makes the rest of the ping plot meaningless as packet loss always impacts anything after it happens.

You can say that skuzzy but my connection was a lot better before the switch, why did we have to have the switch? it yo yos between being decent to being virtually unplayable? Tonight again its horrible cannot shoot anything. Planes going back and forward, mini warps, planes warping 4-5 k?

It is not a permanent, yet.  We are simply testing the possibility.  We are always looking for better connectivity.  I need Ping plots, when it is bad so I can see what you are seeing.

Do you test the connections between the other arenas?  They are still at the old location.  There are a number of things causing severe Internet congesti9n, in general, right now.

When you see any problem, it would helpful to see Ping Plots to both the new and old server locations. The problem may not have anything to do with the test ISP.

Do you want these PingPlots run while in game, or just at different times of the day?

It really would be helpful if they are run at the moment the problems are happening.  Shut the game down to run them.

I hate to tell you this, but the routes to you from either location is the same.  If the traces from your location are the same for both, then, logically, it should not make any difference where the server is.  Here are the traces back you.

I will say this again and keep reminding everyone.  The Internet, here in the U.S. is a mess and will probably stay that way until after our elections are over.  Severe congestion is wreaking havoc at almost every network access point in the U.S.

By the way, the above routes were changed from the original routes as they really did not look that good.  The above route is better than the original to BT.

You will notice that hop#14 changes in both routes and the worse one is the trace from the old server.  That is BT's doing.

Well I hate to tell you it but thats the way it is since Friday, it does seem to get worse as the arena gets more populated or maybe I just notice it more frequently. It was ok the other night after you came in and announced that you had sorted something out? I will send you a film of the sort of warping I am getting if it helps.

Another thing if its my connection shouldnt the other guy see me warping? I pmed a lot of the guys I seen warping and they said I was fine...after I got shot by them lol

Pervert, you do not have to take my word for anything.  Just run the plots, or go to the different arenas and see if it is any different.  In either case, plots from you (or anyone) would be helpful.

As to who is laggy and who is not.

If your connection is at issue, then you will see everyone (absolutely everyone) warp about the same amount.  If you are only seeing some people warping then it is usually the other guys connection.  That is a general rule of thumb.

Now, there are two parts to a connection.  The uplink (data from your computer to the server), and the downlink (data to your computer, from the server).  Those two paths are different routes over the Internet.  It is quite possible for one to be bad and the other good.  How this manifests is as follows:

1)  Good uplink, bad downlink
No one sees you warping, but you see everyone warping.

2)  Bad uplink, good downlink
You see no one warping, and everyone sees you warping.

Now that is if the warps are connection related.  Warps can be computer resource related as well.  If it happens on your computer you will usually see a frame rate fluctuation.  If your computer has enough overhead you may not see the fluctuation.  Example:  If your non-vsynced frame rate is 300FPS, your synced frame rate may never deviate from 60FPS, but your computer may still be fluctuating between 60 and 300, which indicates some type of resource issue is at play.

The LW's ping bounces to a higher ping more often than the other servers. The packet loss remains the same.

You guys need to show me some Ping Plots and let me know you are having issues.  We are testing this ISP and if all goes well we just might switch to it.  If I get no information about problems, then we could make a bad decision.

Dolby, I am reporting your issues to the test ISP.
