"... I want to get better..."
This part is very true. The other colors you added to those words are not.
Dueling is dull, to me. I dueled Fester, for example. He beat me 50+ times and I won once. He is obviously better than me, as is Debrody (still, I think). I really learned nothing new there. I even got to duel Bruv three times, lost each time, learned nothing new.
But in the MA, there is great fun.... mostly due to the many additional variables. If I'm at a disadvantage and I win, that's awesome. If I lose with an advantage, that is even more awesome and teaches me to focus on getting the advantage first. Most importantly these fights are not preplanned attempts to prove whom is better, but the result of a variety of decisions, risks, and potential outcomes resulting in fun.
Dueling is like painting with one color and one eye closed in a dark room.
MA is like Bob Ross on TV painting a beautiful scenery in a short time and adding a little magic here and there just for the fun of it... learning and appreciating the experience during the activity.
I readily admit Fester, Grizz, Bruv, pervert, batfinkV, others are better than me. I have no ego problem with that. I enjoy the fact that there are a few pilots better than me. Fighting those less skilled, especially in a duel, is kind of dull since the outcome is already known. Same goes for fighting those more skilled then me.
I want to learn, not prove anything. I want to have fun learning, not be egosized by pilots like Debrody or you.
I want to pwn (and will) for the pure joy of painting each fight differently with different colors and complex variable (color) interactions.
None of this is to prove anything to anyone other than myself. Just like Bob Ross painted for the the joy of painting.
Learning is better when fun is involved.
