A horrible, horrible event.  I really hope that we, as a nation, can have an adult conversation about why this is happening in our culture and what we can do to change that.  No new laws or or government enforcement of something or anything like that, this is a cultural change that needs to be addressed by all of us in ourselves and those we know.

(I hope this post is in bounds.)

When God calls little children
to dwell with him above,
We mortals sometime question
the wisdom of his love
For no heartache compares with
the death of a small child
Who does so much to make our world,
seem wonderful and mild
Perhaps God tires of calling
the aged to his fold,
So He picks a rosebud,
before he can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
and so he takes but a few
To make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult still
somehow we must try,
The saddest word mankind knows will always be "Goodbye."
So when a little child departs
we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children,
Angels are hard to find.

My familys prayers go out to all these poor parents, familys and friends affected by this horror.....senceless......utt erly senceless.

My heartfelt sympathies to all the unfortunate families involved.  What a society we have.  Wonder how it got to this point?

Unreal...  It was complete silence at work today as we all sat at our desks trying to absorb what we were seeing/hearing.  Those poor kids.

This could of happened at my daughter's school, not too far away. There is simply no way to stop some crazed psycho from killing someone when they have no fear of reprisals and wish to die themselves.

As I posted on Facebook, "To all future individuals with a death wish, please visit 'NAMBLA' (North American Man/Boy Love Association) Conventions, KKK gatherings, or Death Row at the local prison. If you insist on taking someone with you when you end your pitiful life, at least take someone that deserves it."

Children.

I can understand High School shootings, as someone who has been bullied seriously before, the idea of getting your own back is a natural one. Outcasts and shootings are two things that go together too often. Doesn't make it right, but it makes sense in a psychopathic way.

But children.... 5 year old's.... why? What for? What did they do? They are young innocent people who haven't wronged anyone, why?

I plan on having children when I'm older, I love my little cousins to absolute death, (teaching them to fly Aces High was a one way ticket to augerville)

I cannot imagine why anyone would do such a terrible thing.

That might have been the most asinine thing I have ever read on an internet forum. Never have I have seen anyone think a school shooting would be understandable.

HIGH SCHOOL shootings.

If you have been habitually bullied before you would understand. Your mind goes to dark places.

99% of people have that block in their heads that say, killing is wrong, revenge solves nothing. Its the 1% that don't. Fantasists, Psychopaths and Sociopaths, are classed as weird and cast out from the school society and even targeted for bullying. Cause to effect, their conditions mean that they have no inhibitors to violence and essentially no conscience.

Hence if they are not treated by a psychiatric specialist or on medication. The result can be tragic.

The example of this is Columbine, Eric Harris suffered various psychiatric conditions, and was bullied as a result, his friend, Dylan, was also bullied because of their association and hence, they pledged revenge, which they conducted.

I do not mean understandable as a justification, I mean it in the sense that you can understand WHY.

It is not right.. in any way shape or form, but the cause is clear.

My point is why would ANYONE, shoot up a Primary school...... why?

This generation has been coddled so much they have no idea what true bullying is.  What used to be a "go out back and settle your differences" has turned into an arrest able offence.

Fud is correct.  Your post is about as asinine as I've read, also.  Both of them.

We're truly fu..ed.
Amazing you could actually recruit that much suck into one squad.

So... understanding why someone does things is wrong?

And immediately condemning them as heartless evil salamanders with no motive who did it for fun is right?

and I'm being called asinine.
