That would be a big help on reducing the overhead of this idea.

(Image removed from quote.)

How many of the 33 players in the arenas at this moment would you wager are French, and how many of those that are French do you think it would entice to come to AH2?  If players volunteer for these things, the ROI would probably be almost 100%

Ahh french people don't like warbirds, or the japanese its a western thing huh, I have to laugh at the overheads statement to noir clearly you have not read my original post correctly as it was also stated there before you started hiring teams of translators in the business plan in your head.

I never made statements about teams of translators.  Any change in coding would still cost money, whether a little or a lot unless the guys sit in the office and write code pro bono because they like the smell of HiTech's after shave. Someone, somewhere is going to have to spend some time or money on this.  There is absolutely no way whatsoever that it will be completely free to implement.

Using an example, if it cost $100 USD to implement and it netted (1) new customer @ $14.95/month, it would be (7) months for any profit to be gained from this idea.

I am, however, asking valid questions of how effective do you think this would be, questions you have successfully avoided answering.  I read statements  such as : "swiping all Aces High potential customers" and "lull in the MA numbers" , but my calculator wouldn't let me input those numbers as usable data...

Out of the 31 players in the Warbirds arenas, at this very moment, how many do you think could be swayed to switch to AH2 by making it more language accessible?  Let's say...  for the Russians, since it is 7:30 PM there and it would be silly to compare to Japan numbers since it is about midnight there...

I have not said before, nor am I saying now, that this is a bad idea.  I am fairly direct with words and text and there would be no misunderstanding of my thoughts were I to not like this idea.  It sounds like a great idea.  I am just wondering if it would be worth the investment, in an "empirical and financial sense", and not in a "trust me, it will be great" sense.  These are the same logical questions that any person investing money in a company, or spending money on a company would ask.

But won't our friends in France, Germany, Chili, Finland, etc., etc., etc. then feel left out and want their own version?

Where should it end?

Man this is a really hillbilly view of the world if you don't mind me saying so. I speak English so everyone else has to do the same  :rofl If the entire Aces High game was in Russian you wouldn't play it or try and figure it out, would you go and learn Russian to play Aces High?
Isn't English compulsory for pilots?

Only if you want to fly...

Still doesn't change the fact that I would be quite curious to know how many folks would abandon WarBirds for AH2 if the language base was more diverse.

i remember helping a Portuguese guy get started.  I understand some but also speak Spanish, so we communicated in part Portuguese, part Spanish and part English.  some guys got offended, but you know me I couldnt care less.

world of tanks has forums in other languages, perhaps a section for foreign language speakers would be a good idea to help them get started.  pretty sure lots of people here are fluent in other languages and would help and people like vonmessa can keep on having the illusion that english is the only language of the internet.

food for thought vonmessa:  you know world of tanks is a russian game with a crap load of players from all over the world?  and they have a dedicated server for the american continent with subforums in other languages for people who want to play the game but arent fluent in english?

In fact, why not Mandarin Chinese since it is spoken by about 12% more of the worlds population than Japanese?  Seems like a better ROI.

I believe that I have said on at least three occasions that this was a good idea, but the costs should be weighed against the returns.  I could not speak any more succinctly than that so, your conclusions are 100% incorrect.

Considering the relatively small amount of text in this game, it probably wouldn't take all that long to translate and could probably be done on a volunteer basis.
It's really not abnormal for games to have multiple language support.

Volunteers would definitely be the cheapest route.  Free labor is the best labor.
