Ruining Other Player's Scores
« on: February 15, 2013, 03:41:03 AM »
Noob question here,

Over the course of about 1/2 hour I got 4 or 5 tank kills on a VERY high ranking player.  I decided to land my kills and drove back towards the nearest base to get away from the fight.  After about 10 minutes I was sure I was at least 10k away from the nearest enemy, but when I ended sortie I ditched.  When I respawned a player on my side who was airborne said he saw a jeep following me and when he killed the jeep it was the high ranking player that I had killed 4 or 5 times.  He had followed me in a jeep to ruin my landing.

Is this a big part of the game...trying to ruin the kills of opposing players by following them back with an unseen jeep?  Hadn't thought of that one  :furious  Should I be stalking the top players when they leave the battlefield to ruin their landings  :t

Haha, the brainless morons will remain brainless morons for ever  :rofl

Let me tell you a story:
a couple months back, i was upping a 190D, alone. Got a couple kills on bombers, some on fighters. One was a lala who was trying to run from me, stirring the stick so hard that it slowed him down and i just could kill him before he got to his ack. I was low on fuel so i headed home, but my base was 40 miles away. After a while i was throttling back... only to see 2 dots chasing me on my radar. A pony and a lala. Decided to turn back into them, killed the pony quickly as he was trying to rope, dodged the lala's ho attempt, whatched him (seemingly) run away, so i headed home again. But he came back and vulched me as i was trying to land deadstick - bingo fuel. When i reupped in a fresh 190D, he just bailed. Typed "lol" on 200. Then got the pm: "YOU DESERVED IT F***ING CHEATER, NO WAY A 190 CAN CATCH A LALA".  Allright, +1 to the squelch list.
This was Devious1.

Game is full up with stories like that. There are some people that put their cartoon deads up to a high personal level. So they change their attitude in the game. In the end I think they "could be" slaves of what others do. I don't know if all we have this kind of behaviour in us in one or another way. have some...but I prefer to be loyal to my game style and always try to take it as a game, and get the most fun of it. If others don't do it, all I must do is respect them, even if I sometimes can't understand why they do it. In the end...I'm not paying and flying to understand other's mind.

As far as I know, Latrobe is just the opposite side of what you are describing, shoresroad.

Latrobe, your are a class-act mate, you have both my respect as a virtual pilot and as a front-end person  :salute

:lol I haven't heard of this move before.  That player must be a real feminine hygene bag to waste his time and effort to make sure you couldn't land. Can you imagine what a loser they must be in real life.  Who was it?

I would think bombing your GV would more honorable than chasing you with a Jeep.

You GV guys so crazy!   :D

While I dont think its very nice thing to do, I must say the jeep driver gets a solid 8 for thinking outside the box  :lol

Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.

When the game is over, the Kings and Pawns all go into the same box.

Honestly, I think both you and the high ranker spent way too much time worrying about it. :aok

It would be nice to have an indicator for GVers that told them if they'd be able to get a landing or not.  Just a yes/no indication, not something telling them how far away the nearest enemy was.
