When I started online flight simming with Air Warrior (on the Genie server at $6/hour) my handle was 3933.

At the same time I have found a Mac group on Compuserve that was loosely organized as a naval attack squadron, VFA-13 Shadow Riders, flying F-18 Hornet.  As a Shadow Rider member you didn't pick your callsign, it was assigned to you.  I was a police officer at that time, my last name is Falk....no doubt I would end up Columbo.  My wifes callsign ended up being Pebbles (something about a skydive demo, less than perfect landing and gravel in the crack of her butt).   :devil
Columbo

Mine is probably self explanatory.  Other name is nylnriot (nylon riot)... which is what happened in 1945/1946 when stores got in 10,000 pair of nylons & 30,000+ women showed up.

1ijac (one-eye-jack )    Not lil jac, lilac, etc...  lol

Many call me one-eye for short.  1ijac has been my handle since Air Warrior when I began flying over 20 years ago.  As a moderator in Air Warrior, my handle was Jenny until EA bought Kesmai.  I was EAGuruJac after EA bought AW when moderating.  I flew an FW190-A8 almost all the time.  I was a member of the Pigstompers for most of the 20 years and flew a lot in the Korea arena in a Mig also.  After AW closure, I came to AH as 1ijac.  The name was chosen not as in playing cards, but as a pirate.  A relative flew a corsair in the Pacific theater during WWII and their squad patch was a eye-patched pirate with a knife in his teeth (1ijac).

I'd say Drediocks history but this is a family friendly forum.

Before this I was known as /IT\ in Airwarrior

Before that I was known as PORNO. But some folks over there didnt like that name for some reason and made me change it.

Before that I was known as qg123. which was the default handle Airwarrior gave me. I just never bothered changing it

My name has always been my last name. perdue7, perdue2, perdue3 chronologically. While flying La-7's and 262's with MiamiAce for years, people called us La dweebs and jet dweebs. Well, my account didnt get paid for and I was too novice to know that you could just call HTC and reactivate. So I had to come up with something original. I figured I would combine "perdue" and "dweeb" to make it easier on people. They no longer have to call me a dweeb for I am calling myself a dweeb by naming myself perdweeb.

<----St. Andrews on the Swilcan Bridge.

I wasn't even a teenager when I signed up for Air Warrior on AOL.  Started as Gol-4 (Gol-four.  Golfer) and I haven't seen a need to change it.  At the time I played a lot of golf, growing up I played a lot of golf and now that I'm supposedly a grown up I still occasionally play golf so it's still pertinent I suppose.

I started my Army career out in the 82nd Airborne Division. When you jump what they call large package jumps, lets just say anything can happen. There was also a very high drug use at the time among the parachute riggers. So, needless to say there was some serious fatalistic humor among the jumpers.  My favorite after jumpmaster school was "dude.... I would not jump this rig, your going to end up as a Dirtdart".

My jumping days are over, I am nearly an inch shorter (broken back) thanks to a little miscalculation in the winds (thanks Air Force) while jumping with the USAF Pararescue school. So, to say the least, it was an ironic moment in life.

Started as jdB24 in my first (and still first) online gaming experience.  Flew bombers and not very well.  The prototype target drone.

A friend of mine always had to put some stupid name down, when setting video game records - like BLZ, HOR, etc.  DIK inspired me to use it in AH.  I was told on a few occasions that there were heated discussions on 200 channel about the name, but I was oblivious to it.  Some people didn't want to speak my name on range, for fear of getting muted.  :lol

Got bored with that name when I started to kinda-sorta figure out how to fly a fighter (and still don't quite have it  :headscratch:), so I went through the dictionary to find a cool word for my new lower-profile persona.  And so caldera was born.

Had to take a break from the game, due to financial reasons but came back incognito for a few weeks as bait to troll my squaddies.  I was taunting and insulting them using ghetto-speak and at least one of them was getting mad.  The CO knew the whole time of course, and we had some big laughs over it.

Eventually got tired of people mispronouncing caldera or calling me "cald", so I picked something easy to pronounce, stupid and also sure to piss people off when "Snuggie shot you down" shows up in the text bar.  I think it works.   :D
