So I'm back in the game after 3 years away. And generally glad to be back and see old friends. However, there is still one glaring problem that, in only two months of play, occurs more often than I remember, and was one of the reasons the game got stale for me and I left. Extreme imbalance of the sides, with rather lame countering via ENY. Often, people on the low end side just leave the game and come back later, which makes the imbalance even worse. Tonight, I left the game with the Rooks having 157 players to 107 for Bish, and about the same for Knits. And they had a grand ENY of 4.7. Wasn't helping, the imbalance grew even greater before I left. Side leveling is not happen even with ENY and it needs to, for the benefit of all sides and the gameplay.
I have a suggestion that probably doesn't have all the kinks worked out, but maybe the community can refine it. When side imbalance reaches a significant point, temporarily require all incoming, non-squad affiliated players to enter in the country with the lowest numbers? Now my next thought is, to avoid being forced to a certain side, people will start to create their own one or two-man squads to avoid this restriction. However, you could additionally require that to be a viable squad that is exempt from the restriction, it would have to have a minimum of say six or eight members (what's the point of a squad with any less anyway). This might help to level the numbers a bit more. Just an idea for an issue that many seem to be complaining about.
