Since only ONE other person pointed it out...UPDATED TBM!!! :x

Alone, that ad was bad.  You MUST pair it with something else, or alone you have accomplished a waste of time.  After the mentioning of doing a sortie in the end, you switch to in-game action of dogfights, bomber intercept, bombing of strats, etc.

You have to catch the attention of folks a bit sooner.  Leading with in-game dog fighting, a massive furball if possible before heading into what's posted here, then ending with more in-game footage.  The beginning of this ad could start differently with mention of the beginning furball, then some how work it's way into what you did.  End it with more in-game footage of what other things are in AH; GV mission/fight, bombing of strats with bombers being intercepted, PT boats attacking a TG, etc.

But I did get a bit of a laugh out of it. :aok

Like the rest, truth is you missed the boat on this one.  Badly!

You need action that makes you want to jump in the middle of it.  Even showing a P38 engine start one engine at a time would be cooler with a cut in voice.  "Wind'em up guys.  Let's go get them."
   Then the Aces high logo.
Short sweet and begs the viewer to look your website up.

This is a preview of a new ad we are going to use at Youtube.  Our goal is to put it up tomorrow, but we though we would share it with the community first.

http://downloads.hitechcreations.com/films/ad3.mp4

Good effort. However, I don't think it did a fair shake on what is in the game.

130 objects... like what? It doesn't really mention anything in the game, just generalizing them as 'objects'.  The b17 bomber formation part was good, but it doesn't show any actual combat.

I think what might be best for HTC is for a 'fan-base' video thing.  Fans create HD 'commercials' and submit them to HTC to be reviewed.  I think it would be beneficiary to have a less than 1 minute commercial and a 2 minute one for a more.. 'formal' view on the game. That could explain in more detail what you can do in-game.

Just what I would do.

Fighters dog-fighting, scissors with someone getting a kill, (5 seconds), switches to a fighter dive-bombing on a base, destroying something significant (5 seconds), switches to another fighter shooting at bombers, switch to bomber-gunner perspective, on shooting down one fighter. (10 seconds), 2nd fighter comes up on the previously mentioned bomber, and shoots one in the formation down.  Bomber releases bombs *camera follows bombs*, bombs hit target. (5-10 seconds).        Mentions ground combat,   shows an outerview (as if you are the enemy) of a tank, then the commander/gunsight view of that tank, tank fires, hits another tank, quick view on hit tank as it explodes.  Plane flies overhead shoots at tank, wirble/osti/m16 is then shown from external view, then gunsight as it shoots down the plane. Camera switches to jeeps and m3s/251s storming a town and releasing troops.   (15-25 seconds) .      Mentions of naval battles,   shows an f5 view of 2 fleets having at it, f6fs and a6ms duking it out, PT boats and HE111s using torpedoes on ships, then seeing the results of the torpedos.   Showing LVTs and perhaps landing craft ( :pray ) as troops run from the beach to the town.   Then about 10 seconds of switching between different planes "we have over this many of planes, tanks etc".., switching to Me262, 163, typh etc at least 10 different planes in a 5 second span.  Then it shows a P51-D flying into the sunset and the Aces High logo appears at the top, as the p51-d flies underneath the logo into the sunset.

ACES HIGH

Are you ready to play?

^^

This would be the short one.

That's how I would do it, if I had an editing software I'd make it now :)

I feel it is probably meant to be supplemental, not a mainline ad for a TV spot or anything.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

What they are trying to get across is the strengths of AHII versus the competition. As these strengths are fairly subtle, it will take some cleverness.

Ah, wasn't this a violation of rule 4? No trolling  :lol

I must say, I was disappointed in everything except the massed bomber scene.

And what the heck is BKR or whatever that splash screen said?
Easy in-game again.

Who decided a sexy female voice over was a bad idea?

14 years of continuous refinement might sound better than development.

It needs to end with fighter vs bomber kill shots.

Regardless it is promoting our game and frankly, that was embarrassing to watch and listen to. The narration is hard to listen to in itself and when was the last time someone said "over 130 player controlled objects" and you thought to yourself… yes.. that game is for me.

I won't deny that this is mostly true. However, the idea is getting across what AHII brings to the table but Il2 or WT do NOT, and those things are subtle, making a clever 60 second ad a tough challenge for the team.

Looks like a bit of a tongue'n'cheek sort of thing....if it is a part of a number of small ad....(I believe it was said earlier that there were going to be small ads of different aspects for the you tube channel).... then it was ok...a little uninformative.... overall it looked nicely done...just a little lacking from my untrained eye....the one thing I don't agree with however....is showing the comparison of then and now...I don't believe it is necessary and detracts from what it is now....which for me is what I would be looking for...the now....not what it was like...

That is all

P.S   How many PM's did you get......have you got a lot of offers on the table yet guys...I like your way of thinking  hahahaha

Skuzzy,

Great idea but it doesn't capture the essence of the game.

"You will never, ever get closer to flying real WWII aircraft than THIS game.  There are many games that try, but none get as close as Aces High.  We suspect that's why most people fly other games you can pay more to get "better".  Not here.  You either get better or you die.  You can keep messing around with the other WWII games, or you can decide to experience the same learning curve and feel that your great-Grandfathers and Grandfathers did when they flew these planes or rolled tanks into combat...it's your choice...but you better have a good reason to call yourself a gamer and not be able to defend against this..

Insert Greebo miserably reversing Changeup

Or this...

Rocky bnzing JB11 while he's fighting 4 other people

Or this...

That flight of bombers crushing a base (with a view from above and with a view of Dodger in an 88 pumping out shells as fast as it will load them)

Or this...

A CV rolling in off the coast towards a base in the distance while quietly launching 20 POTW planes NOE snap-framing closer and closer to the base while Lazer, Nath, Creton, Bluberry, Sunsfan, Kappa, et al are wiildly launching to intercept

Or this...

Three tanks are rolling slowly to a Vbase in the distance that is being JABOd by P47s that LilMak commands and then the tanks stop dead, engines on then...backing up widely as Dr7 and his crew fire unmercifully on the GVs rolling in for the take.

Or this...

Troops are being dropped by one of 4 C47s from the view of a distant Wirbel rolling as fast as it can towards town firing into the dropping troops

"So don't tell us you've played WWII games before because you haven't played this one.  How do we know?  If you had, you wouldn't be watching YouTube right now...You'd be knee deep in combat playing Aces High."

Edit:  all this while playing Rage Against the Machine's "No Shelter"...there's a thin line between entertainment and war...

Sorry, I gotta give this ad a thumbs down.  Thats hard to type because I really enjoy this game, appreciate what goes into making it what it is and know someone made this believing it was good.   I was waiting for the real ad start and thought it was a marketing company intro explaining their approach and how they came up with this awesome ad I'm about to see, which never happens.  When it got far enough along where its obvious that this is the ad...I sort mumbled "Yikes..." under my breath.  I can't see it sparking a potential players interest much.

I suggest a player developed ad contest.  Declare the message and tech guidelines and cut these guys loose on it.  Winner gets some reward and accolades and I bet you would end up with several very good ones.

1 minute of one of the decent player- made dogfight films with the web address overlaid would likely have more effect

It's needs action. Dramatic music. Explosions. fighters in combat. And a deeper dramatic voice not some redneck sounding retards.
