Boot inactive players to keep ENY realistic especially during off-peak hours

So... people getting booted while they're afk in tower after a reasonable amount of time would cause people to quit?  Do these poor souls collapse in the fetal position and go catatonic when they get shot down?

That's why we are asking HTC to change game play.  So that the ENY system does not reflect players that are AFK for hours on end.  You are wrong that it is nobody's business, one players conduct and decision to stay signed in and sit in the tower for hours or until the next reset, impacts ENY and thus impacts other players.  We all pay to play,  I have the same rights as the guy that is AFK for 8 to 12 hours.  I have the right not to be impacted by his conduct.

Really, the first thing you do, really, you didn't go around and make sure there were no more razor blades laying around?  Your stupidity almost kills your kid and the first thing you do is sit in front of a computer?

And this same guy is not going to throw a similar hissy fit when ENY doesn't allow him to up his pony or his tempest because of the AFK guys on his side?

The difference is, the AFK guys are actually impacting people who are trying to play the game at that moment and being frustrated, quite possibly into logging.  Booting AFK people is only affecting people who are not playing the game.

The problem lies with ENY.  One of the reasons that no other arena is currently a viable alternative is the availability of aircraft for perks in the late war MA. 
What should that tell you?  =  Most folks pay subscriptions to fly their choice in aircraft for perks (to earn them or spend them).
Then what does ENY do?   =  It limits the aircraft available for perks.

Rather than coming up with a design to boot players, our time on the forums would be better spent coming up with a better ENY system, if it is still deemed as a must with the current or future win the war system. 

Here is one:  Instead of limiting pilot equipment, let ENY work on the strat system.  You have more folks in "battle" you put more drain on resources and country strats loose percentage per minute.

 Oldman gave a what if scenario that hopefully would help folks to see the human side of afk.  Actually, afk is a good thing in some instances (personally need to walk away from the screen after a rather unsuccessful experience in game or in real life). 

I should log off-- but I plan to return momentarily after doing something else in the real world that is more important, necessary or simply soothing (no comments from peanut gallery  ). 

What I thought would be a few moments turns into a conversation with the wife or some other more pressing event.  Yes, it would bother me if I was booted and didn't gain perks that I had worked hard to obtain as in Oldman's scenario.

Yep, one might think that by reading this thread.  My main ride when I'm not practicing for FSO is ENY 35.  Thank you for your consideration.  I also play at prime time mostly, not overnight.  However just looking at the system logically, AFK players have an adverse effect on the arena at a time when gameplay is already struggling due to low numbers.

So pretty much the least bad reason people can come up with to not have people get booted is so they can get their win the war perks.  Their right to idle for win the war perks are worth more than the gameplay of the people actually trying to play during low numbers times.

Can someone please explain in detail how that makes sense?

If it impacts your mood potentially losing 25 perks and having to possibly click 'Ok', then doubleclick an icon and wait a few seconds because you had to attend to your flaming house or razor blade swallowing child, you're doing it wrong.

Whole other can of worms there my friend.   LWMA would implode.   "Spies!!!!!!!!!!"  There is a entirely different mindset there.  I have become so accustomed to it that I log off, rather than join another country to do what I normally enjoy doing.  Heck, there are even times in the Dueling Arena when numbers range lopsided.
