$41,000 to go 80 miles? no thank you. It makes much more sense to buy an Elio for $6,800 and spend the remaining $34,200 on fuel. AT $4/gal that is 8,550 gallons. 84mpg * 8550= 718,200miles. Also the Elio wont make your home electric bill go up since it does not need to be plugged in every night.

It's a proper car though, not a moped in a frock. Its 80 mile range is on the battery alone. It also has a gasoline motor for extended trips.
