This.

What exactly happened to make him leave, or was he PNG'd, and if so, for what reason?

Questions, Questions.  To me he was a nice guy.

He intentionally put something offensive in his signature in order to get himself kicked out.  HTC enforced the rules and gave him the PNG he clearly wanted.  The OP started this thread to call attention to it in order to try to make HTC out as the villain.

When you break the rules you face the ban-hammer, simple as that.  The best way to affect change is probably from the inside using the systems at hand, rather than getting yourself thrown out.  Making HTC out as the bad guys for enforcing rules will likely also get you nowhere but the door.

So in other words, Blu not only poked the Tiger with a stick, but did so while making sure it was half starved, while also wearing armor made of meat?

Well if you want it more in the form of humorous analogy, I'd compare it more to his sticking an appendage (won't say which one) in the tiger's mouth and shouting "bite me".  And then got bit.   :)

Amusing? Perhaps.  Smart? Not so much.
