Great B-36 "Tom-Tom" program video
« on: August 14, 2014, 10:19:00 AM »
Just found this. Lots of great up-close details on the mating mechanisms. In particular, check out the aileron deflection  required by the F-84 to cope with the wingtip vortex coming off the B-36. This program was a crazy idea, and it took a really skilled test pilot with a huge pair to even attempt this.  :salute

Enjoy  :)

No kidding. Just imagine the tip vortices coming off of that monster. Remember the F-104 that collided with the XB-70? It's crazy for small aircraft to fly that close to a big planes wingtip.
