With all due respect, the last time we fought 1v1, you ran for three minutes after you attempted to vulch me after takeoff, dying after I chased you for a full grid. Please refrain from lecturing me about "honor."

Flying with Top Gun has made me rush to kill everything that gets in front of my gunsights, ESPECIALLY flying with DrBone and TripWire.
They show absolutely NO remorse for flying in front of you and taking your kill while you killshoot yourself.  :frown: It has happened to me
on many occasions.

There is no protocol. The MA is a warzone, not a gentleman's club. If you can't kill the guy you're fighting quickly, whether he's in front of you beside you, or wherever, he remains an active threat and should be dispatched by any available friendlies as quickly as possible.

If people dislike this, there's always the DA.

Of course, because the DA is a paragon of fair play and gentlemanly behavior, which players use as a test of skill and there are well understood rules of gamesmanship that are never breached.

Well, the DA was very much like this 6-8 years ago, now it is simply the MA with nothing to bomb.

Hey all,

In a recent outing with new and veteran pilots alike we were taking a base.  In a few instances I was in the best position to take a shot on an enemy plane.  I tried the following on vox:

  • Lining up on Spit.
  • Dropping in on the LA.
etc.

Each time though a friendly player flew in front of me and took the shot (both times without any announcement).  This is not a whine.  I am asking, is there a specific protocol or verbiage one must use in such instances to announce you are making a run on an enemy plane?

If this was a singular event no biggie.  Happens more often than not though that is why I am posting.

Thanks,

Slade  :salute

I usually found that if I managed to secure a 1v1 and engage in an exciting fight, battling the other guy down from alt, more often than not a gaggle of friendlies would show up as soon as the hard work was done and mob him.

Conversely, whenever I had run into a horde of red, the friendly gaggle is conspicuous by its absence, almost certainly bravely clearing some other guys 12 :joystick:

"Last time we fought" The instance you are referring your feild ack gave me a pilot wound complete with frequent total blackouts. Which was why I ran for 3 minutes. and you were hardly alone. You had 2 other people also chasing me. Whom for the record were already chasing me.
Did you see me whine about it?

The only comment I made was when 2 flights later I was engaged in a 1V1 well away from any furball and you came zooming in for the pick which I saw last second at the top of a loop and couldnt move out of the way in time. And to that I simply said "Figures"

You have beaten me in a square fight exactly once. That was about 3 weeks ago. And for that I give you credit. Beyond that I give you little more.

BTW your rope attempt last night didnt turn out exactly the way you wanted it did it?

I'll give you some credit for last night though. I saw no HO attempts while you were flying the D9. Dont know what others saw But I am only speaking for myself
Sawz was a different story. He started with the HO attempt at 1.5 out. That was right after I passed you who made no HO attempt. I fired back and he went down.  What was he doing in a 38 anyway? I turned around to reacquire your location and saw you were already low with 2 or 3 on you. I circled around a couple of times but stayed out.

try saying things like "let me kill the spit, please..." or "let us have a 1v1.."  very rarely do i see anybody asking this and seeing that others wont stay away.

but mainly in a furball it's a free for all.  many times I have gotten behind a con's six have a clear shot and some other guys mentions "he's dropping on the same con", I guess he didnt see me.  I blow it away and sometimes I get yelled at but oh well.

semp
you dont want me to ho, dont point your plane at me.

Ah yes, remember the old "check 6" to engange standard. I surely miss these days too. Many great 1v1s were had and many lessons learned.

I like both of your responses haha. This is roughly the real truth in a lot of instances haha

If I had a film of everyone I shot down in AH on YouTube, it would probably take up too much space on youtube.

As would any player who has played this game as long as either of us have, but that's as irrelevant as the question was to the topic.

Is there some issue with YouTube videos and montages?

There is no protocol.......

If you don't give a S£it what anyone thinks of you then steal some other guys kill and bathe in the glory of your improved score/ rank etc etc......

If you feel aggrieved regarding having your kill stolen ( and can't just shrug and move on) then by all means rant on 200 or in here so you can draw attention to this heinous act.
