The P39 and why it is amazing.

Just take the 2x50cal with 37mm its very deadly when you are 200 out on there 6 almost half my kills alone are just the 2x50s in the p39Q plus it can take some sick battle damage.

All those hits, yet the ailerons are still intact.   

Most of my P-39s have a habit of losing the v-stab in short order.

yak3 is the biggest abuser of the damage model

The P-39 is not a bad plane.  It handles great at speed; it turns decently at low speed; it climbs well at lower alts; it's reasonably fast on the deck; it's small and hard to hit.

Anyone who has any interest in the P-39 should go online and track down a copy of "Nanette: Her Pilot's Love Story" by Edwards Park.  Probably my favorite WW2 book, and the closest thing to required reading that we have in the 80th.
