This is interesting  to say the least..... Six replies since I posted that I don't know how to salute or return a salute, and none of the folks griping about this subject bothered to post instructions on saluting  :headscratch:
If you approach from me from my 12:00 you will be unapologetically HO'ed.

Enter text buffer,

type dot command for salute and the player ID you wish to salute (on opposite country).

If you think you are having a 1v1 in the Main Arena, your SA has failed you.

I can't recall if it is one of the roster right click options. Should be, some people have some hard names to type from memory.

You're right! Fortunately the text buffer can be scrolled back to the very start of the playing session if needed. Especially names you can't pronounce are quite hard to type correctly. Also "normal" names with a seemingly meaningless number 1 in the end often need a retyping for that "1".

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Someone got their bellybutton handed to them and they gave a one fingered salute. It got stuck.

The proper way to display that salute is <finger>; which has gotten me muted more than once

i will always return a salute  but i never get 1 cause im always the 1 who gets shot down hehehehe.
when i have a good fight i will always salute. when in a crowd mostly i do not salute my killer because  there is rarely a good fight involved. however if there is a good shot involved i will always give the other player a reply on 200 let him know  "good shot" or something to  acknowledge a fine job.
I agree some players take this game to seriously , I play to have fun and as a newbie i am starting to know which other players like to have fun as well. so to all you players who play this game to have fun <S>
1 Of these days you will regret shooting me down.

There is no salute function in Call of Duty. The ends justify the means crowd and win at all costs people can't handle a good fight if they lose, and if they do send a salute it's facetious at best, mocking you after they ho'd you for the "win" most likely.

I wouldn't sweat it, Tom. You'll contine to fly and act with class, let it be an example maybe a few people will pick up on and realize it's the better way to play.

I have to be one of the more guilty ones. My SA seldome includes my own six, let alone the text buffer.
I also did not know that one can send/return a salute on any channel. I always thought it had to be 200.
One who only enters into engagements that they can win is destined to mediocrity.
I will fight anybody but mediocrity is still a distant dream.
