What happened to the Salutes
« on: March 03, 2015, 10:08:35 PM »
It seems like there is a trend going on, people not returning salutes. What is going on with that?

Tom, I squelch that channel, so they do not clutter the text buffer.  I've become an old guy with old guy eyes.

Even the .s salutes are being ignored, like they cost extra.

It honestly depends.  If I see it, and I'm in a position where I can return it, then I will.  If I've ever been sent one and I didn't respond, I didn't see it and/or am too busy to send one back.  Usually it's that I didn't see it, simply because I don't get them that often and am not looking for one.  I tend to stick to bombers, so I will very rarely get one. :)

I return <S>'s whenever I see them. I'm the same as Volron. If I didn't send one back it's because I didn't see it or I'm too busy at the moment (probably still fighting 3 or 4 enemies :)  ). I tend to forget the send a <S> back after I'm no longer busy as my memory is fair bad these days.

I'll always send a <S> to someone that I have an amazing fight with.

thought about posting this thread myself..many times..there are some that have not and will not ever return a  salute.it..I can handle losing a fight no matter what the circumstances but continually not returning a salute means either they don't have there text buffer up or is taking this game way to seriously IMHO

The question is not well posed.    :old:

The well posed question is:

Why, for the hell, people send <S> in a furballing ?       :neener:

I don't find it too hard to return a Salute within a few minutes, I can type .rs with my left hand only if needed. What I don't quite understand is that some people return my Salute by typing on 200, which takes much more time and effort than the simple dot command. Maybe there's even long time players who have never heard about the .rs command?
