2015 Ecoboost Mustang
« on: March 04, 2015, 06:30:41 PM »
In previous threads lots of us talked about the new Mustangs.  I'd mentioned a few times about getting a project ecoboost, having long loved my previous SVO back in the late 80s (first performance car).

American Muscle and some other companies are coming out with some tunes for it, and some new larger turbos and other mods are well on their way.

Look at what this auto transmission Ecoboost did with just a simple tune upgrade loaded into the computer.

A 12 second car...that is insane for the price.  The active suspension is supposedly fantastic as well, with a lot of mods coming for that as well despite it already being great.  Looks like a great bang/buck for a project/tuning car.  These things will be the future Honda Civics for the next generation of car fans when it comes to a cheaper tunable sports car IMO.

I got used to the paddles in the GTR pretty quickly, but like we talked about in past threads, I would buy a manual if given the option in a Mustang for sure too.

It's an amazing car, I've found some vids of Ecoboost with a bunch of pre release Ford Racing upgrade parts that will run 10s with a supercharger, and solid 11s without.  I really like this car, a lot, and depending on how this spring/summer goes and what we end up with, I could really see this as a 2nd/track/project car, especially if I can find a good deal on one that's near a year old in good condition/low miles.  Imagine an 12 or even 11, heck even 10 second car in the mid 30,000k range that is only a year old.  Insane how great technology and car advancements are going.

When we all talked about the Ford GT for 2017 - price came out today, only 400,000$k...ouch.  Not unexpected I guess, but I was hoping for a 150$k ish price like the 2005 GT.  They are only projecting to build 250 a year as well.  Poooo!!!

these cars are all amazing. this thing weighs around 3500 pounds, and will handily embarrass its predecessors in virtually every category. except styling. and it's doing it on 140 cubic inches. THAT is something i personally thought i'd never see.
