Thinking about it I think there are two ways to look at a list like this one.

First are the guys who know thier plane of choice inside and out and who fight from the strength of that plane.   That's a skill that can be recognized.

Then there are those who can fight in thier bird of choice in any situation and win.  Those guys stand out in my mind.

I remember a night where I kept running into two very good 109K drivers in my 38G.  One was always above me and made sure he held all the cards.  It was never ending BnZ.  His timing was always right on the money and the best I could do was break into him at the right time to make him miss.  I don't thing I hit him a single time.

The other guy met me co-alt every time and bent that 109K like I hadn't seen before.  He got me a few and I got him a few.

I'm my mind he was the better of the two 109K drivers in that he could make it do things the other guy wouldn't try.  By the numbers the first guy did it all correctly in using that 109K in a way where I couldn't touch him.  He flew to its strengths.  But the other guy to me knew the plane better as he'd fight regardless of his position and win.

I guess it's how one wants to define the parameters of what "best" means

I think he lost track of what/who was being pointed out, If you go back and look at all the Lists posted you will see those of whom you speak of did not say anything out of the way or were mentioned.

  Maybe you should go tell you're friends to practice what they preach.

No it's not, don't know why that question came up....probably a deflection but let me explain myself just so we are clear.

The list above is from all the big lists that people typed out all put together. 30+ of those names(not including the doubles) shouldn't be there because the flat out fact....they really aren't THAT good...that includes yours, my name, and Drbone(pretty sure he would agree with that).

EDIT: It shouldn't be a "best in a plane" seen and killed the so called "best in that plane" same as a lot of people. It should a Best pilot thread, or a known for thread....both of which we have had a hundred times and the same people come in here listing off their buddies.

Slash, understand one thing about me....I believe in tough honesty, if my buddy at work is being a turd I'm going to tell him he is a turd. In here if someones not that good, I'm going to tell them they are not that good...even if they are my buddy.

Fing right they should be stricken, it's like minor league baseball players being considered in the majors...it's just wrong.

I think a ranked match type setup like they have in COD and other games, based off your wins/losses in would show stats and ranks...planes would be random and it would show what plane you did the best in and others normally beat you in.

I don't know about skill, but I nominate myself as the best looking Mosquito player. I even match my lady-purse to the plane skin that I choose.

I do agree that it is wrong to pigeon hole certain pilots into one ride though.  I think the better sticks experiment with most planes because it is interesting to find the strengths and weaknesses of the aircraft but the ACM used is still the same in every ride, so I wouldn't judge anyone to be the best in anything on any given day.
