Have I broken any rules or been out of line since I haven't payed in 2 years? I agree some of the non-payers have been a nuisance on the BBS, but we shouldn't put everyone in one basket.

True. AH's supportive community can transcend active accounts and veteran players are welcomed back with open arms. Likewise, disruptive and negative influences may have active accounts until certain lines are crossed. I'm for supporting a game I like and I don't care about account status except for those who cancel then hang out to cheer on the demise of AH (and that ain't you, B).  :salute

I play games on my phone but would not play AH on it. It was always an immersive experience, in my office, away from distractions, limited wife ack,, ect. Was even better before I tuned to 200.

The social media route would be a good place to start (does HTC even have a Facebook page or Pinterest page?). Twitter would be a waste of time right now...How many times can you receive the tweet, "Two more weeks", before you stop following? As for TV or other advertising, the cost-benefit analysis rules all; if you're not making more in new business than the cost of the advertising, than you don't do it. Of course, if you could turn the game into a professional sport (got to be more interesting than watching people play poker or Texas Hold'em!!!) and get a show on a cable channel, that might help. Make it a team sport, and the TV show would televise matches (maybe a team from each state for "the Nationals"). Interspersed with matches would be short segment featuring interviews with actual combat pilots, reviews of gaming equipment, "how-to" videos on building the "ultimate" gaming rig or sim-pit. Just an idea...

Because the channels they advertised on are no longer there.  History channel, Military channel, Airpower (or whatever it was called, I forget).  These channels had the perfect target audience for Aces High.  They either disappeared, or they changed to something else.

I still have all these channels...

I've noted increasing number of friends and family that are getting tired of the little screens.

My $0.02 here is that AH does need a mobile presence... perhaps an app that lets you check the status of the map... maybe a player roster... you can see if your buddy is on...maybe an alert when your buddy logs on... I don't see a way to play AH on a phone but it can put AH back in your head when you away from the game.

Actually, that's a terrific idea, Todd! Could include alerts when map resets occur, or special events are pending. That's a great way to use mobile apps for AH. :salute

This OP is the best reason that the BBS should only be available to paying players.

The OP has also contributed far more to the AH community than you have.  Just because he maybe inactive right now should not preclude him from being able to voice his opinion on how the game should evolve.

I would like to see Aces High played on triple smart phone screens...

Actually, thinking about it further that would not be as absurd as it first seems. Combining the facts that smart phones have a built-in position sensor and Oculus Rift used regular Samsung smart phone screens in some of their versions, a visor for two smart phones could serve as a 3D monitor, the third being for maneuvering. Ooh! Just think about all of the gadget freaks out there!

Sounds good... right after HiTech makes it a freemium game :bolt: :bolt:

Why not ask for a payment model of one month at a time for $14.95 purchased from the AH WEB site.

You can at any time increase the number of months by purchasing additional time. Like Virgin's pay to play minutes for your cell phone. Just pay for a month to play as the minimum time frame. But, then it may be cheaper for HTC if you just call HTC and drop your card number or other payment vehicles for one month at a time. I've heard it's a delightful treat to speak with the very nice lady who answers the phone and helps you through such things. Bentnail always liked speaking with her.

Wonder if vHACKv can't get his parents to pony up a card at this time. Maybe he could snail mail HTC 15 one dollar bills near the end of each month. I've never known people who are as clever on the internet as he, to not be able to scrounge up that amount to throw away on things each month. Maybe he uses it up on his monthly church tithing.

Lol, troll

That's just what the receptionist wants to do, deal with 2000 aviation nerds a month. ( that's only about 65 a day, then she can get on with her day)  I understand you run a cartoon squad. However leave the business to the experienced experts.

Telling others how to run their business is like picking another mans nose. It is just bad etticite, did your mother not teach you manors? As a multiple business owner myself I encounter this daily.

Hey bustr is this you doing some crowd funding?
