A New Twist For Squad Night
« on: August 07, 2015, 01:54:55 PM »
Some of you may have noticed an upsurge in Russian I-16 sorties last night.
This was due to the fact that for our "Squad Night", The 47 Ronin were,
rather than running a formal squad mission, playing "Pingo".
"Pingo" is a variation on the game "Bingo" and the object is to fill every
block on a card by achieving kills of specific plane types and knocking
out various structures at a field or base.
For last night, pilots were able to fly -only- I-16s while playing.
We had a lot of fun with it, though due to a small turnout, it took way
longer than I'd initially thought it would.
  Here's the "Pingo" card:

Our "Red Flight" were the winners and thus have "Braggin' Rites"
(intentional use of the word "Rites".  :D
over "Black Flight" and as such, may lord it over Black Flight  until such time
as a new competition between flights happens.

In any event, it's a fun variation on the usual gameplay in the LWA and invariably
generates a lot of laughter and banter over the course of play.

Regards, Odd

I had only flew the I16 a couple times before squad night last night, maybe just enough to have the head positions set. I think most were a bit bummed we were going to be stuck in this pig for the night. Let me tell you it was a BLAST! I even got a few kills with the thing! Fester map wasn't the ideal map to do this on but we made do and it was a lot of fun.

I don't know what the final count was, but it was neck and neck for most of the night. When I logged it was 11 for Red, and 10 for Black. Can you imagine filling in half of those boxes using only I16's? When we got of VH it was like in the old movies...... Kong rolls over and dives in, I follow, MARK4 a few seconds behind me and then McCrowly, the prettiest wing overs and dive runs you ever saw!

Sure beats just chasing LA's all night. Thanks Odd for a fun night  <S>
