Why is this our responsibility?

Shouldn't Hitech be able to generate maps?

Not trolling here.  Just wondering.

personally I enjoy making maps. why, cause you can make them the way YOU like them. lets take one of mine for instance. it wasn't a great one, but it was ok. I learned how to lower the shore batteries to the ground. this made them harder/easier to hit, depending on how good you are. it wasn't necessary, it was just a fun thing to do.

as of late, ive been making missions in the Beta AVA. they're not great, but they're fun to make and im trying to get good at it, to make a manual, cause easyscor is a slave driver and makes me do that kind of thing!

same with the weather. ive made a couple of awa files. they're fun to try different things, and sometimes you get lucky and they look good.
the game is what you make it, or don't make it. you can play, or you can get more involved in one of many different ways.
some people like making terrains, mostly because you can make it the way YOU want it, not what someone tells you it should be
some people like missions
some people like weather
some people like to admin the arena's
some like all of the above.

its all in what you want to do and what you take away from it! I try to do anything to make it fun and exciting.

if you want to see some cool stuff, go offline, and look at all the different terrains, some are MA terrains, some are Special events terrains, some are AVA terrains. you'll see how much can be done with the tools we have, from so many different and talented people.

You know your right! So when will your first 5 terrains be out..... In two weeks?

I do skins not maps.

The bureaucracy and whining on the map side exceed my tolerance level.

It's obvious you do not do terrains. To compare them to skins is apples and oranges.

I am glad people enjoy doing them.  I refer everyone to my original question.

One would think after all this time there would be dozens of maps in rotation.   :headscratch:

I want to try my hand at making a map.  I won't ask where to start, I'm a big boy and I'll do some searching on my own, but if anyone has any tips, I'm all ears.

Then Greebo is a saint.

1. - Often is asked to do the skin for new rides built by Waffle.
2. - Just had his CraterMA conversion to AH3 beta posted by Hitech in the online Beta Melee area.

So vraciu you are lagging behind saint Greebo the skin maker and part time terrain guru.

So you're saying skins have an equivalent impact on gameplay as maps?  Or are you just trying to start a fight?

Talk to Esaycor and Greebo. In the open beta forum are two posts. The Colors of Dawn Patrol and Clouds of Day Patrol. They inspired me to create that terrain and work out getting the cloud layers to work. Then try out Greebo's converted beta CraterMA terrain in the beta melee area because Hitech has uploaded his cloud file to it.

You are either nuts or have seriously poor reading comprehension skills.  No one is bashing HTC or the players that graciously donate their free time to add content to the game.  They are merely questioning why maps, something that directly effects gameplay, has the ability to make the game feel "new" when a new map is released, etc.., are something that are not built, updated or whatever it takes by HTC themselves on some level?  Being so important to the game one would think they should, but I am just an outsider looking in.  Maybe I place more value on them than they are worth.

The added player content is awesome, but it shouldn't be the sole source.
