I have to speak up, because I know 1st hand where 1stpar3 is coming from.
He has a very generous heart, and has shared with me his hardware just to see if it would help me with my
poor eyesight affliction. He is not alone in this community full of folks far and wide who have time and again shown to be the best part of humanity. I can recall squad mates of one player who gathered together and did major construction repairs on his home after storm damage.
But back to his question, what is it that we can do to respond to the negative clamorings? No one wants to see this community fade, so besides the forums and beta testing how do we keep our compadres engaged?
Discussions along the line of "recommended hardware" have been helpful IMHO towards dispelling myths of the AH3 sky is falling. I like Bustr's suggestion of youtube video infomercials
So, possibly a youtube channel with unofficial or official demonstrations. All of this should be screened properly to insure that it in no way will break our agreement with HTC while beta testing: Mostly, we have been warned not to make comparisons of the work in progress to any final product or assume HTC final product will function in the same way as during beta testing. So, a lot of disclaimers, maybe?
