ENY wasn't the reason why you couldn't take the base.
Without the experienced players, or enough people in that area to fight, it did have a difference. Although, maybe it was the map layout too. That Pig face map was always the hardest map to win. Was usually the only map that stayed up for the entire week. I hated this map the most, that's why I wanted to win it so badly when we had the chance.
So it worked.
Yeah, it worked to keep the map up for another 3 days (sigh). The eny cap only made more players log off, mad that they literally had no real planes to be effective in, and became discouraged because we had no chance at winning being so close to victory, since the other team could defend both bases we were trying to take easily with their Wirbles and Spit16s.
I remember that day or maybe one just like it. The bish needed two more rook bases to win when I logged in. When I looked at the country numbers the bish had around 70 and the rooks in the thirties with knit about the same as the rooks. It was the biggest imbalance I had ever seen by far. Interesting though, the bish numbers dropped like a rock in the next half hour after failing to win the war.
Yeah, I think we are talking about the same instance, it was on the galexy (pig face map) as I like to call it. Its kind of hard to capture a base with planes that only carry 1 250 bomb, and have 230 cannons, where you have to make it to the town first. Then you have to kill the VH, the tanks in the town, and make sure the town doesn't repop. It was just hopeless.
I honestly don't understand why perking these planes isn't the better option. At least it will give people an option to spend more perks, and a chance to win the war, if the #s imbalance is causing one team not to be able to win the map if they only have a couple of bases left. The teams defending those last bases are usually tough to beat if you only have 29+ eny airplanes + vehicles.
