The next video cards will require a new MB. They will not work on your current slots. ...... or so I read.

There are PCIe 4 motherboards out now. Not many people in AH3 have them, if any.

I'll buy the card and use it in a PCIe 3 Motherboard until the Spring. My money is going into airplanes and hunting this year.

Actually they shouldn't have any problems running on the last few generations of PCIe. To use PCIe gen 4 you need to have one of the latest motherboards like the amd X570 or some of the intel z490 boards however you can put a PCIe 4 Video card in a PCIe x16 gen 3 or 2 slot you just wont get the full bandwidth.

I hear the 3070 is going for $500 the 3080 $700 AND THE 3090 $1300 However, these prices may be artificially inflated due to demand and low production upon release.

Watched part of a live stream MSI did this morning to intro their new 30 series cards. They were saying the GamingX and Ventus versions of the 3090 would be out the 17th, the 3080 the 24th and the others yet TBA. I'd guess around black Friday.

Looking forward, haven't decided yet between 3090, 3080 and 3070.  Will wait for performance reviews.  Also will probably wait for the next gen Ryzens (end of year supposedly), so that the early jacked up prices will have a chance to come down and I'll be able to select one with a better cooling solution.

All of a sudden the local classified ads websites over here are full of people trying to get rid of their 2080's and 2070's. Obviously they fear a huge price drop on the second hand market.

Hopefully this develops into a real panic, this way I maybe can get a better card than the 1660 Super I am currently looking at  :D
