Key Reason why ENY is stupid

I dont see an issue with keeping players on the roster. I do think the "in-flight" is what matters. That is what should tick the eny calculator.

Nope, that's the way it's always been.  People logged in count toward ENY.  There's some kind of lower limit where ENY doesn't kick in if total numbers are below X, but I don't know what X is.

I have never in my life seen players that were as devoted to not playing the game while being logged in as I've seen here.

Yeah, if ENY counts all players and not those in "in flight", it needs to be changed, that or an auto-kick feature put in.  City of Heroes eventually put into place an auto-kick feature, that would warn you 15m prior to auto-kick, and if I recall correctly, gave a countdown at 1m till auto-kick.

If they do not move for a given time.... boot.

You can be riding a horse in RDR2 but be in cinematic view. You do not have to touch controls as it follows the intended trail. If you do that too long, it warns you after a bit that you have 13 minutes with no input before it logs you.

Of course everything has a weakness. There you can circumvent by opening a catalog. It will not kick you if it thinks you might spend gold.

I've seen tankers with the patience of Job (gunners, too, for that matter). I seriously doubt HT would code frustration into their play to end yours.
