Zhang Zhan, 37, received a 4 years sentence today in China for highlighting the Wuhan covid virus outbreak.

Don Lemon on CNN will not be discussing said jail term, he has a mansion and a husband to think off.

Virtue signal over that on your Chinese made ipad liberals  :)

And did you consume lettuce or any other product from the fields that rely on migrant workers that cross the border?

That would be legal immigration. On a work Visa. They can drive across the border.  :old:

Round and round. Could we stick to a topic to find at least one end.

So we see the amount of working immigrants in certain sectors is almost matched by illegals.

That tells me there is demand for more legal immigrants and plenty of illegals are successfully occupying that demand.  That in no way justifies illegal immigration.

And it doesn't tell you that legal immigrants do not fill that demand? How many U.S. born citizens line up for and are denied those jobs?

Same exact arguement the confederates made during slavery. Muh unregulated servant labor for cheap products. Whose gonna pick your cotton then?

How about you go walk across the border to Mexico without being checked and let me know how it works out for you.  :aok

No. The confederates tried to make the argument for slavery, for people as property. That's not even remotely close. Then post reconstruction opted for share cropping. Before Covid .... way before ... when I was a young man and you weren't a twinkle yet ... my going across the border from the U.S. to Mexico via check point was merely a formality. I could have crossed elsewhere and there wouldn't be Mexican authorities to stop me. Coming back in such manner may have presented a problem (or possibly not).

I'm sure the refugee children in cages that may never see their parents again appreciate that. There's the law then there's using it as an excuse to commit atrocities. But we're all just people, being people.
