Twitter is bad for mental health
« on: August 17, 2022, 12:54:54 PM »
I was permanently suspended for some horrible, albeit unspecified act about two weeks ago. Been sleeping better ever since.

Anybody have the same experience?

Yeah, I've been sleeping better since you were suspended, too.  :D

I......do not have involvement with social media.  I tried Facebook for a short while to keep in touch with high school friends and people I worked with throughout the years.

I quickly deleted my account.  This is my opinion and mine alone.  Social Media is a vast wasteland of noise and disinformation.  Who and what are Influencers?

What are their credentials? This question and many others I have on the social media community gave me pause.

It's worth nothing in my opinion and causes more harm then good.  Exactly like our news these days on Cable news.  Loaded with agendas, false narrative and disinformation.

Although I guess some people need recognition for anything.........this is the venue, whether it's true or false.  It's entirely worthless.

Twitter is as fake as the bots that infest it. I don't care for using fake products.
Facebook has been rendered defective and is now antithetical to the open sharing and expression of ideas, constructive debate, and reasoned criticism. I don't care for defective products, either.

I tactfully explained that it was FAR easier to NOT get monkeypox than it was to NOT get Covid. They were quite adamant that I never post there ever again. I normally just read what various columnists and such have to say anyhow

These days the two platforms probably hurt people more than they do any good.

I’d bet $ things people say and do there are top 5 reasons for getting fired.
They're casting their bait over there, see?

It's a great way to get unfiltered info: case in point--Alex Berenson: All he ever did was post contradictory CDC info about Covid...they eventually banned him, whilst accusing him of essentially lying. He sued, won. They couldn't point to any fabrication he'd made that justified his banning, AND his ridicule. Turns out the White House asked Twitter to ban him, which they dutifully did, without justification
