I always thought it was eye candy to cater to the xbox crowd

He uses the pitch ladder and bumps ct on and off which means he manual trims between bumps

Ladder gives an instant insight into what angle your plane is at in the sky without having to look around for a horizontal reference..

It's still ugly and gamey imo

I assume you can MUTE the 200 sandbox channel? And whats with the superimposed HUD? Absolutely hate that..

As I recall, it replaces the gut feel, and natural sensations you get when turning, diving and climbing. While not perfect, with my limited flying skills, I believe it helps. You can always turn it off.  :rock

Ok Simon, heres a link to dispel the blatant debauchery that has become the 200 soap opera when you log into the arena and join an on going fur ball.  if you watch close and follow the fight first and the you wretched decapitation of the fight in 200 you will understand where the issue lies.  I will let the film and the later 200 chat speak for it self.  Please stay for the end of the video to see chat logs.

Flippz, I don't understand why you wish to be the propaganda minister for this sweetheartbag. You're posting his edited snippets, devoid of context, to show him in the best light. What about the other 30 or 40 times he's come at me from 20K spraying this tour? What about the non-stop yapping like "poof" and "4-0" and "that time you got owned in 2015"... I won't even get into the times he outright lies and non-stop gaslighting.

Your argument is that it is all in my head. That he's just innocently furballing along, a victim of my verbal attacks. Of course, Skyyr would never do such a thing. Banish the thought. Ignore what you see and hear, and what history has told you.

You may be a fool, but I am not fooled.

Do you wonder how I knew it was Skyyr, before the kill log appeared? It's because he does the same thing every night. The moment I appear on the kill log, he switches fronts, jumps in a cannon-plane, flies directly to my position and comes at me HO'ing and spraying (as you can see).

I've logged about 7.5 hours flying time this tour, spread out over 5 or 6 nights. Pretty much my average. Skyyr has logged about 50 hours. Of those 50 hours, 7.5 hours have been exclusively dedicated to hunting for me. In other words, 100% of the time I've flown this month, I've had Skyyr (and Judge) relentlessly hounding me, disregarding any and all other targets, just so they can shoot my hog in the face.

I notice you also conveniently left out the fact that immediately after this sortie, I switched to the Rook front for a better fight. Guess what? 5 minutes later Skyyr and Judge are rooks, flying directly to the field I was using. Apparently I'm clairvoyant, since I mentioned on chat "watch skyyr switch to rooks in 5...4...3...". I switched to a back field on the next sortie, only to see Judge coming directly at me in his warping 20k Dora, diving and spraying, rinse and repeat.

I knew that would happen because the exact same thing happened on each of the previous 5 or 6 times I've flown this tour. No exaggeration, literally 100% of the time I've been on. Without exception. Skyyr has literally switched teams, or fronts, within 5-10 minutes of my appearance on the chat log.

Coincidence? Happenstance? Cognitive bias? Give me a break. It's blatantly obvious to anyone who flies anywhere near me.

It's really too bad neither of them will actually fight. They'll both just take turns diving, spray-HO'ing, flying back up, and keep taking turns.

So, how should I handle this situation? Should I cancel my subscription? I know that would make Skyyr happy since he's stated many times that he enjoys driving people out of the game. Should I hide in a jet, or pony, or other plane to reduce the chances of him being able to locate me? Should I keep switching sides, or fields? Maybe get in an 88mm and get my revenge that way?

Emphatically, no. I'll keep doing my thing, and calling out these disgusting antagonists for what they are. If you want to keep snipping moments out of those activities to try to propagandize this forum, you may feel free to do so. You might even fool a few people that are susceptible for that sort of thing. Lord knows there are a lot of gullible people in our particular demographic.

Just be aware that you are on the wrong side of this, looking quite stupid.

No, I meant the pitch ladder superimposed on the windscreen. I did wonder WTH that box on bottom right was also, but the pitch ladder out of a modern jet is horrible..

You can turn off both those overlays if you don’t like them. I actually use the pitch ladder to orient myself sometimes.
Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

I could only speak as to how I would have handled that situation. There were some friendlies around. I doubt he would have followed you down if you dove for the deck.

That said, in the video it looked like you were the highest of the enemy planes and I would have considered you the biggest threat if I was in the LA7 and would have engaged you first too :)

hazmatt it wouldn't be an issue if that were the case. What you describe would be acting within reason, and is a tactic often used by many players.

Remember, this guy is absolutely obsessed. Reason doesn't enter the equation. He'll blow 20k past a dozen cons and dive into my ack if he thinks he can catch me landing. I've watched him bypass countless planes to get to me. Higher/faster, lower/easier, all of the above. He'll abandon the fight he's in if he catches a glimpse of my F4U. It really is insane, and truly astounding to watch the lengths he'll go to. It makes no sense at all from a situational perspective. Yet, there it is.

They don't care if they die in the process. That's why Judge only flies in attack mode when I'm around, and why Skyyr, who from all accounts is a pretty good player, can barely hold a 2:1 k/d ratio. It's target fixated obsessive behavior of epic proportions.

As I've stated, this is not about the fight. I love a good dogfight, especially if a player is an equal or better match. This is not that. It is just gangs of high-alt, high-speed cannon monsters that spray and pray on every merge. One can only dodge so many times and so many planes at once, especially when one of the sprayers has such terrible lag that his nose doesn't even need to be pointed at you to land hits.

I and my squadmates, and a few others are witnessing the epitome of obsessive behavior, mixed with egotistical fragility the likes of which this game has only ever seen before from this same person. He hasn't changed one iota.

Salute Icer, welcome back!

There are plenty of ways to track other players. Since you've been gone, they've introduced a kill log, which shows who kills whom in real-time. This provides the ability, if you're paying attention to where and who your friendlies are, to narrow down a player's vicinity quickly and constantly. You can also estimate based on flight-time and darbars where your target should be.

I also fly F4Us exclusively, and use a unique skin, so that when someone engages me, they know who they're engaging.

Also as Nrshida put it, a player's ACM is like a fingerprint for those that pay attention. That's how it's always been very obvious to myself and many others when Skyyr came back under his previous shade accounts whilst under a ban. In Judge's case, his constant warping is a dead giveaway.

One also has to keep in mind that this player has also been proven to coordinate with players on the other teams. Spies, if you will. He also admits to running multiple accounts concurrently. This gives him a presence on your team, and to use the ".wingman" command to keep track of you.

I have no evidence that Skyyr is tracking me using multiple accounts at this time, although he was previously banned for that type of activity. He does have squadmates that fly on opposite teams, and they do communicate using 3rd party comms (Discord), so it is certainly not implausible.

Nowadays he's more careful about what he posts on YouTube, and steadfastly refused to post native .AHF films instead or as well.

Make of that what you will.

Unfortunately I have other matters to attend to today, so I'm temporarily bowing out of this thread. Have fun

If I were king for a day...(these are just a few ideas off the top of my head)

If it were my sim I would be actively involved and would log in and play for myself to see how thing were working and to see if there were ways I could improve it based on what I saw taking place in the game. (this means I wouldn't have to take 3rd hand info to find out what was going on in the game)

Hitech use to do this. He'd pop in and chat/answer questions in blue text for 10-15 minutes. I always loved to hear what he had to say.
Quote

I would listen suggestions and criticisms from players in the game and give their ideas a try to see if anything panned out. Maybe 30 days to evaluate. Say the playerbase wanted early late and midwar arenas. Since it shouldn't be too hard to configure I would set it up and let it run for 30 days to see if it was worth keeping.

The problem is that most "suggestions" have been brought up before. Some have been tried, other Hitech has explained why they wouldn't work or other issue that would crop up if he DID try. This is the one that most are bothered by. "Why wont he try my idea?" More often than not they haven't thought the idea all the way through.
Quote

I would offer a recruitment bonus like WoW for example when you bring a new player on or an old player back to subscribing you get a month free or something.

I think they had this years ago. Nice idea, but that leads to more office work and Id rather see Hitech write coad than do office work.
Quote

I would do like Walmart and have a greeter. When somebody new comes on for the first time, greet them and ask if they are new and would like assistance getting started. This could be a staff or volunteer potion.

This one may have saved the Steam release. They were getting thousands of loggins but people were leaving just as fast. Had there been some greaters to help them allong it may have brought in a bunch of subscriptions. HTC was no where near as ready for the Steam release as they should have been.
Quote

I would have a feeder squad for new players that people were auto enrolled in as soon as they started. Other players who wanted to grow  the game could volunteer for a position in this new squad and would get an achievement or something for contributing here.

This was tried for a while. I forget who it was that started the squad, but he was very active in trying to pull in new players, or just players that want to learn more of the game. I dont think it lasted more than a year.
Quote

Instead of having mods who appear to mute some people for saying something but not others, I would have people who would offer assistance in game to other players in real time. There are already tools like the ability to squelch somebody if you find yourself getting butthurt. I don't think the muting thing adds anything to the game and certainly takes away from it when it is not administered without bias.

This one your going to have to let go. Ive been here for 20 years and have only had a MOD warn me once on two different occasions. Both times I listened to what he said and all was good with no mutes involved. Skuzzy posted years ago that MODs have a lot of rules. The one rule everyone should know is "Do Not Confront a MOD" it is an automatic mute. If a MOD tells you to calm down you say yes sir and thank you and all is well. Tell them they should be talking to the other player you yelling at and you get muted because you didnt let it go.

Personally I think the MODs are too lenient. They should be the eyes and ears of HTC in the arena. If some players is chasing another player across the arena to do nothing but annoy that play then the MOD should boot that player for the night. If there is political chat on the messages mute those players for 15 minutes if they ignore the warning. The more crap and harassment that is removed from 200 and or the game the better off the game will be.
Quote

I would have SOMETHING free to play in the main arena to get more numbers and to build perk points. The use of the free to play planes and vehicles would build up perk points but you couldn't cash them  in until you bought a plane or a subscription.

Agreed, I have always said this but Hitech has said no to this idea. I have never seen him post a reason why so we can only speculate. Sure he may get some vets to switch to FTP, but I really doubt it. If these vets where ok with using the old/slow planes they would be flying them now. But saying that Id think there would be a lot more new subscription to cover the few losses of those switching to FTP.

6-8 EW planes/vehicles   FTP

6-8 MW planes/vehicles  $5 a month

2 LW planes/vehicles      $10 a month

All planes and vehicles    $15 a month

Quote
In addition to the subscription model I would. Add some sort of upgrades for one time purchase. As a parent I may not be willing to pay $48 a month for my 3 kids to play a game such as this but I might be willing to spend $10 on each of them on their birthdays or at Christmas to buy them a plane (kinda like IL2).

$15 for a month is also a nice gift. If they get bored, cancel the sub.

Quote
I could go on and on. I think there are many good ideas about, however, I get the feeling that Dale would rather play poker and spend as little time as possible dealing with the thing in the "broom closet" Maybe Dale will write a multiplayer poker game?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I used to think that it might be useful for the future of the game to have these discussions. :)

Hitech use to do this. He'd pop in and chat/answer questions in blue text for 10-15 minutes. I always loved to hear what he had to say.

Aye, I think when Hitech stopped doing that and forgot to reset the end of tours for days after they were over, I got the feeling that I was seeing the writing on the wall. :(

Aye I'm thinking stuff more like early/midwar areanas. Why would people cancel their subs if he brought back something that was here before and people enjoyed enough that many people have asked for many times? Why not put some smaller maps in the rotation (as requested many times) due to the lower numbers? People will cancel subs over a couple smaller maps that would make many happy? The stuff I'm suggesting is minor changes that many else have mentioned previously.

My point is if nothing is done that nothing will change.

This one your going to have to let go. Ive been here for 20 years and have only had a MOD warn me once on two different occasions. Both times I listened to what he said and all was good with no mutes involved. Skuzzy posted years ago that MODs have a lot of rules. This one I did let go. It's why I canceled my sub.

I've never got muted for harassing another player, I've never been told to calm down. I've never chased another player across the arena or annoyed them.

I've got muted for things such as: "Discussing non-game related material on 200" or "adding my 2 cents to a discussion that was happening on 200 and having an opinion that obviously wasn't the same as the mod as the people holding the other opinion continued on without being muted"

People who hold the same views as the mod are allowed to carry on their discussion on 200 while others get muted for contributing to the same discussion. I do not think this is helpful to the game at all.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this point.
