Well said.

The gamiest thing I've seen is that flippy thing that some of the "good players" do when you are about to shoot them.

It's the ages old landtrout maneuver performed by flopstars... annoying, yeah.  Been around forever... mostly a coding issue that creates that appearance.

Used to be primarily FW's (roll rate) but I've seen it spread to numerous other airframes, implying it's known and used intentionally.  I try avoid it, but I'm sure there are times when it pops up.

I think it's more than that..

As they cross in front of you and you finally get a shot they just roll, or turn or spin..anything to break the plane they were flying in a second ago..

Last MNM when aim assist was enabled for a bit I noticed that the aiming points didn't always lineup with the heading of the aircraft as shown on my front end..sometimes like 90 degrees off

I think that last minute movement throws off the shot as it incorrectly reports a greater change in flight paths than really occur..

I have started it and noticed an improvement of missed shots by my attackers..

As this isn't going to change I suggest everyone try it too

It is not the same rolling until the plane looks like a helicopter on my fe..it is much less noticeable than that freaking looking event imo

You won't see it if you setup aim assist offline as the targets are just flying in circles and don't make any kind of defensive movements

This is what I've been seeing, a brief, induced snap roll that coding cannot track effectively. It's pretty clear in films and is not sustained, but it makes tracking hard(er.) People have learned they can exploit it across more of the plane set. It wasn't as prevalent in the past except for fast rolling planes.

Meh.

Hope they leave aim assist on in MNM... I dunno if it helped me, but a few more times might see some impact.

lol why wouldn’t someone want to “break the plane” you’re trying to shoot at?

If you’re closing in behind me I will most likely let you closer and try for an over shoot or I will barrel roll and try to pick a turn direction you’re not ready for. Most people will over shoot but some people know my moves well enough lol… I only have a couple. Not sure if that counts.

I don’t just aimlessly flail about but I will for sure not give a flat shot if I can avoid it.

Hi Simon

That's interesting and sheds some light on what may have been happening to me recently. Check out the AH Combat Report thread, I've posted an account of events with the film.

I'm guessing he was loitering around my field waiting to be tipped off when I was rtb to land... check it out, you might find it familiar  :rofl

Gunzo

Maybe he's got a 2nd/Shade account and keeps it tucked away in YOUR Tower to watch.  It's like AWACS, just to make it easier to find & harass people when he gets all butthurt about something.   That dude Badboy used to do that.  Ever heard of him?

I see it in the yt films in a climbing rolling scissors..whatever that is called..as the plane would come into/just under your sights they roll and you miss your shot..instead of just pulling through the maneuver like most do..

The aim assist has two xx's that sorted lineup where you are supposed to aim but in a turn and burn fight the path those xx's show doesn't always line up with the path the nose of the aircraft is pointing to..

Not sure if this actually causes miss shots or if it just a split second view of how the game is trying to interpret the data via the usual internet lag...or both

Ever heard of him?

Of course.

The thing is, films are easy to record and easy to post, you can film every single sortie. I posted a film, you can draw your own conclusions.

Show me your film and I'll do the same.

Nope just didn't know a slight rock of the wings at the right time could be so beneficial

Just sharing insight to help us all enjoy the game more

Well, in my previous flight n 'fight platform, making evasive actions w/ C47 when attacked, was considered by some "aces" as illegal and non-acceptable. Had many "conversations" about issue in general channel.

Neither do I. Something to show you deflection needed or what?

I believe they are talking about the lead compute gunsight built into AH3.

It basically tells you where you need to shoot to land hits, like the ones you find in modern jet fighters. It's enabled using an arena setting, in the main game arenas it is disabled.

You can enable it offline, to use it you use the tab button to select your target and it will show you the lead point where you need to shoot to hit it. It's good for practicing your lead. Just google it you'll find some stuff about it.

If someone ever figured out a way to enable in the MA it would be quite devastating, and great for their k/d ratio.

Eagler said: "anything to break the plane they were flying in a second ago" - as in the plane of manoeuvre. A plane in 3D space defined by your position, your lift vector and your thrust vector.

The 190-dance is a completely different thing to legitimate bunting or the Hartmann manoeuvre which uses it:

If someone ever figured out a way to enable in the MA it would be quite devastating, and great for their k/d ratio.

Except it isn't all that accurate. If you test it with a human friend you can see.

Amazing shot while blacked out and going god knows ho fast. wierd how some just never miss

Also, about this point - which has seemed to initiate a sub-discussion of aimbots etc - FFS people: Skyyr even uploaded a tutorial of how he does this. You're just seeing the results of several years of practice based on a sound technique. I've tried it myself this very week and it works. This whole pitchfork-wielding mob mentality is unhealthy to the game and community. Dale said Skyyr deserves a second chance over what amounted to a relatively innocuous infraction compared to some who are still allowed to fly here and even post in this very thread.

I did something which I'll bet never occured to the long-standing rivalry faction or the PWM group - I talked to him. Give it a try.  :old:
