I started playing this game here in the a** end of rural eastern Oregon on dial-up. 20 years later, there is fiber optic strung out through the more populated areas (populated doesn't mean much around here), but landline service still absolutely sucks.

When it comes to online gaming, faster connection, like cable, is not always a good thing. Cable (at least years back) dropped a lot more packets than DSL. I stayed on DSL until I couldn't.
Lots of wide open empty spaces out there, I can imagine your struggle.

I can't log in either. Gives me some little window that says to check my firewall or something, but nothing on my end has changed and I wouldn't know how to make any changes anyway.

Yeah the firewall isn't the issue.  I'll go watch some basketball

My firewall is off. Logged right in. Point being check into your firewall. It may not be obvious.

I can login with out issue. You may have to update your firewall software and allow HTC in, as some of the IP addresses may have changed

Rebooted PC.  Turned firewall off.  Still couldn't get in last night.  I'll try after work today.

What OS are you running? Shouldn’t matter, just curious.

Shot in the dark here. If you use a system cleaner like “Ccleaner”, as I do, ys might want to run it and clean temp files out. Wouldn’t hurt anyway. It can flush DNS cache.

Or you can do it manually.

Here's how to flush the DNS cache on Windows:
1) In the Start menu's search bar, type cmd and press Enter

2) In the Command Prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter

3) A message confirming the DNS cache has been flushed will appear

4) To exit the Command Prompt select the red X in the top right corner

Rebooting your router may do the same. They should be rebooted every 2-4 weeks. Unplug the AC power, wait a minute, plug back in.

No trouble logging on yesterday afternoon.  Curious if this has been the cause of needing to use the “.resetv” multiple times in recent weeks?

Other people are having this problem too.. I dont use a firewall.  Might be worth looking into... we don't need any help having people not log in because it doesn't work.  After the kids are in bed tonight I'll dink around and see if I can get it to work.  I don't plan on spending much time doing that.  If it works great, if it doesn't I won't be heartbroken.

Pretty sure I run windows 10.  I'll try your suggestion this evening.  Thank you.

Manually changed settings to allow Aces High through firewall...nothing. Still get the same message.

Seems careless to me to undergo a public IP change with minimal notification or even an update to the tech support sticky as it's a pretty big disruption.

Most of the issues now are likely due to DNS propagation. It can take 4 to 48 hours for that to occur, depending on which service you and/or your provider uses.

This would apply to anything hosted at that connection while the DNS records update. Having a 24-hour TTL doesn't help matters. Hopefully Dale knows what he's doing in that respect because there's more to it than just A-records for reliable and secure connectivity.

A workaround would be to change your DNS servers on your PC or router. I typically use Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) as primary and Google (8.8.8.8) as secondary.
