turn out the lights the parties over..

This black fog crap is unplayable for me.   It's not like we had too many fields to take off from before but now half the map is in "dim monitor" mode.  Is it to force people to use the vehicles?

Lazs, can you please tell the audience ONE thing you like about AH? [Other than furballin'.]

I have problems with some aspects of AH,[C'mon, please redo the B17 externals focusing on the area where the engine panels merge with the wings HTC.] but wow, you seem to have problems with the whole damned game if you cannot take off shooting.

Are you a masochist?
I only ask because you seem to enjoy all the pain AH appearantly inflicts on you, else why do you stay?

Half the map?
I found 2 Rook bases that were under the weather front and as soon as I took the time to climb into and above the clouds it was really amazing looking down into the massive cloud layer and actually feeling the depth of same.

I have MA and POINTS issues but I have none with the increasingly great graphics and figure the grey wall is a temporary feature that will be addressed.

Take a pill or somethin' Lazs.

heh, I call it the smog monster from that 1971 godzilla film.

Above the cloud layers is one of the best features Ive seen in a long time. Was awesome to climb above it, drop down through IFR, pick off and unsuspecting B17 and climb back to sunshine.

However, the huge gray boxes (storm or something?) looks like a serious graphic bug, and is terribly distracting. Really bad.

Also, total lack of target orientation in the gry stuff makes fights hard, although I found it alot of fun.

Skernsk has a Atari computer or something very slow and he was saying it almost got unplayable in the soup at lower res and not a big hi res monitor. Dunno 'bout that.

I really hope the whole thing is removed, tweaked and reinstalled. But please remove the "smog monster".

It just isn't ready for primetime MA, but a seriously cool idea.

Great idea, but needs some tweaking.  For some, it's unplayable.  Under the new clouds, I couldn't see a thing and I have my gamma/color correction adjusted very bright.  Need to lighten up things a bit I think.

sunchaser... (soon to be a very apt handle for us all)... Ok, we know you don't like me as a feature but very little else.   try responding to what I say rather than analyzing me.   I just checked the arena and allmost half of it was in the black fog.  The very first thing I ever complained about on AH was that the 1.03 flight models were wrong as to turn.   I have also complained that perk rides unbalance the arena and that killing a couple of buildings with a lone bomber to limit gameplay was a bogus and silly feature.   you may respond to those if you like.   Oh, I allso felt that some sort of clickable six call would be more realistic.

The features I do like about AH are the flight modeles and the gunnery.  I think the cv's are ok and glad they are in the game.

The strat makes no differece to me except when it affects me.   It is silly in the extreme and is a childish "game" feature.  The bombers are a joke.   They are a strategic element in a game with no strategy.

The best part about a sim that uses WWII ac for air combat is that you have some parity and variety.   A tough balancing act but we were doing ok.   Now.... with the perk system we are assured that the arena will be unbalanced 100% of the time.   The latest plane additions are not so much additions as a shift in emphisis.   We gain late war planes but make an equal number of earlier planes useless.   This is no gain unless u are late war centric.

No, the earlier planes are more useful, lazs..no other way to GET perk points quickly.

And please, could you wait to whine about perk planes or any of the 1.06 added aircraft until one actually shoots you down?(Which has yet to happen)

Well, personally I LOVE the storm front clouds. I only find 2 bad things about them:

1) Dimmed icons/clipboard map. Dim icons I can live with, after all, there is supposed to be little light in there, but the clipboard map is completely unreadable.

2) A strange blue square on the right side of the screen. Various players took pics of this bug.

HT, you did a GREAT job with those clouds, they are incredible. I climbed above the storm clouds and found myself cruising above an overcast cloud layer, it was awesome! Not to mention that La-7 I tangled with hopping above and below the clouds.. that was intense!

Massive multiplayer games are worth it for the strat, im here for the whole experience, furballs, buffing, events... and my 30$ are as good as yours.
You have been told 1000 times to go to big furballs in the MA, else to the TA, else to H2H, else other game if you donīt like regular AH arena play, which lot of us seem to enjoy. You want a pure ACM simulator, go build one, AH is more than that, that's why i play it.
Stop that whine-o-matic guy....

torgo.. avoiding perk planes is pretty easy for now since the arena is so full and the guys flying em have no skill in em.   this is not only no fun tho but it is certain to change.   I've been lucky, and I'm just one guy in the arena,  but if you look at the stats for perk plane kills you will see that not everyone has been.   And.... it will get worse not better as skill is gained and the people in em are relegated to the better pile its.  Anyone who thinks differently is being foolish.   The perk plane are allready killing at a higher rate than the dreaded Chog and niki ever did!   That's gonna make for a balanced and harmonious arena????

I don't care about strat.   do as you please with it.   I just don't want it to have quite the dramatic affect on me that it does.   the balance is off IMO.   In fact, if it were more realistic I might even be interested in it.  If you want to pretend you are winning some kind of a war that's fine with me.

Look at the K/D list that deja has printed in another thread.   You take the bottom ten planes and just throw em out and no one would even  notice.   It will get worse.

I'm with Lazs, the clouds make the game 100% unplayable.

It is impossible to see enemy planes inside them.  Not merely difficult--IMPOSSIBLE.   Same with night.

I don't like getting killed by invisible planes.

That blue square bug is actually where blue sky is peeking through the edge of the cloud mass. It will grow as you get closer to it.

When I first saw it I thought my vid card was dying or there was a bug. It's just a harsh transition between cloud dark and blue sky that will undoubtably get tweaked to be really cool as opposed to a curtain effect.

Suprized to see there have been so few (have there been any?) squeakes about perk planes now that they are implemented.

Cue lazs....

Twice I flew into a cloud bank. FIrst time I came out with 4 kills. Second time I came out with 3 kills. Both times in the La5.

Pretty easy to see in there if you ask me.

Those bottom ten planes account for twice the usage as any of the top 10 planes since 1.06 was released, and nearly 3 times the usage since the tour rolled over.

The C.202 saw as much action in the three days since 1.06 came out as it did in the week prior to 1.06.  That's over twice the usage.

The grey wall needs to be fixed, but the cloud layer is great. Flying on top of that layer is the coolest thing I've seen in a sim. Tracked a Ju88 just below the layer last night. Dropped through the clouds and popped through d700 off his 6. Its an awesome game feature.

Those clouds are waaay kewl, took off in a Ju88 flew at 15,000 feet right smack dab in the middle of the cloud layer popped out over nme base dropped bombs and ducked back into the clouds.  Ya couldn't ask for anything better!
