there is a P-38 pilot that works in a sportsman store in Florence Oregon if anyone in the area wants to go talk to one. He is more than willing to share stories

If there's one company in the world that listens to it's customers, it's this one. Where else can you call up with a tech question and get it answered by the CEO of the Company?

That's what I did on Saturday with an AHV issue.

Try getting Michael Dell on the phone one day!

Thanks for the support, Hi-tech.

"none of the dedicated lighting drivers have felt fit to complain about their ride anymore"

Eh?

Not true. Not true :) :)

It took nearly TEN tours of "whining" until the 38 damage model was fixed from 1-ping death to a normal damage model rivaling that of the P-47 (as it SHOULD be). I do agree that it is a *bit* too strong in the wings now, they never get shot off now.. but then again, ive never read or seen a film of a p38 getting its wing root shot out...wingtips yes, wing roots, no.

Pyro: LOL! You da man! :D :D Now paint it green!!!! Put 12 X .303 armament in the hurri I! *grin*

Perhaps in 10 more tours the dive flaps will be fixed ;)

"If you think something is wrong with the 38, provide some documentary evidence"

As far as the dive flaps, that has been provided. Now we just wait for it to get on the top of the "to-do" list.

Right now the 38's problems in AH are:

1) Dive flaps (should pull nose up at 3-4'gs if deployed at high speeds)

2) Fowler flaps auto-retracting causing really nasty spins (should not auto-retract)

3) Missing ordenance option of 2X 2k bombs

4) Missing earlier 38 models (F,G,H,J)

HTC responds very quickly to costumer concerns, but when its about modeling and stuff, be prepared to wait.. and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait... and one day *BANG* it happens without warning.

Bigcrate.... hmmm is this the same Bigcrate that swore up and down that the AH P-38 climbrate was off in one thread and he had "proof" that it was wrong? That is until I got my P-38 pilots manual out and provided data suggesting that Bigcrate was .... errr ummmm "misinformed" maybe? :)

Oh and just a FYI, but go back into AW and count the number of flap settings. Now look at a P-38 manual and see how many flap settings were actually available in real life. It might give you a small clue as too why the old "pump the flaps" technique worked so well in AW.

Tac, no matter how long you think you have been waiting for your "Green P-38" ;) I can guarantee that I've been waiting longer for the Yak-9UT that Pyro told me he was gonna do "real soon"  And its an even easier varient to get done too. Don't hold your breath waiting too see either one very soon :p

Verm you putting words in my mouth?? :) I never swore about anything. Anyway you were right and I wa wrong... My manual was for the P-38H/J models not the L model.. So it was wrong
and I said I was wrong just like a said here I was wrong to post this.. I even said in the 1st post I was at odds about posting this.
I really didn't want to piss any body off with this but yall get pissed so easily its not funny. :) And I found what I was looking for I have taken my foot out of my mouth and my head out of my ass.

Cw

PS verm there wer 4 settings in AW and in reall life there was 3
full up maneuver flaps and full down. I never  really used the pump the flaps thing when I flew AW.

CC.... I can't even imagine what he'd look like with his foot in his mouth... which is on his head that is up his ass.

That is a scary image.. human pretzel style.

I bet he is good at exhibitionist autofellatio though.
