Urchin!

Come to Rooks! We dont have such a problem. Mostly we have numbers and we split our pilots so they are equal with other countries.

If there happens an accident and we could vulch, we stop attacking and wait until enemy gets his plane up. Also we never shoot chutes, even nikpilots chute...

IF enemy is trying to gangbang us (rarely happens) we just go away to another field and let gangbangers take fields.

Why? Because we all are gentlemen!:D

>I get to be an amazinhunk when I start getting frustrated and
>pissed off

Oh, I suspect its quite more often than that.

So you've gone from calling people amazinhunks to trying to insult my squad to measuring the length of your stats.  You are awlfully insecure aren't you.

If you notice, I never said I was an expert pilot.  Never said my stats are better.  But ever time I have died, I can look back and find the exact mistake or combination of mistakes that got me in that position.  Whether I didn't see someone coming, or didn't have a good escape route, or waited to long to disengage.  I can always review and see where enevitablly, the mistake was mine.  So instead of squeaking and whining, and wailing that the world is so unfair, I make a mental note and try to make better decisions the next time.

You choose the whining route.  I suppose that speaks volumes to your character.

What the heck, I'll believe I'll toss my two cents in.  Tonight, a group of us (4 or 5 AKs, many other bish) were attempting a field capture.

One of the AKs was flying a goon and he warned us that a 109 was approaching him.  Me and AKWarp turned to help him.  Warp was in a d9, I was in a 110g2.

Urchin killed the goon and zoomed away.  Unfortunately for Urchin, a d9 can run him down.  I followed along in my 110 and sure enough, ole Urchin made a really bad turn - sort of a spiral climb that didn't spiral.  Yep, I caught him right at the top of the turn with 2 30mms, 2 20mms.  He blew up nicely.

He immediately filled the text buffer with complaints about gang banging.  Lol, remember, this is right after he killed the goon.

To be completely fair, I suppose I should have let him return to the field so he could kill the other goon too!

Urchin, you're off base.  Even worse, you're wrong.  But that's ok, you still ok. :) All of us have bad days.

Is it me or is everyone feeling a little claustrophobic lately with the MA?

I feel like the entire group been stuffed into an 15x15 foot elevator. A gorgeous blond babe gets in on the 12 floor and we all fight and struggle to get a shot at her.  Sometimes, it's like someone let a good fart rip and we're all gasping to get off on the next floor...

Either way, the situation stinks and I'm hoping for some air freshener from HTC in the way of a nice new map.

Besides, Urchin isn't wearing deodorant and he stinks... :D

i feel the same way sometimes urchin. take a brake man. thats what im doing right now. i still fly but not even close to as often as i used to. im playin with the film editor right now. its pretty cool. making some films and stuff. little frustrating at times. so far for the last few days the only reason i log in is to get into a big furball to get some good kills on film. take my film and go to the editor. i recomend you give it a try. dont worry about the bases under attack or anything like that. just go furball on film and make some movies! takes your mind off all things stressfull to AH:)

I actually remember that one a little differently Curly.  Unless there is a new bug in Aces High that makes the 110 display as a P38 (not to mention look like one)- you weren't there until the very end, when you did in fact kill me.

What I, personally, remember of that sortie was killing a goon, seeing 1 P38, 2 110s, and 2 of something else head out towards me from the base, so yea, I took off.  There was no zooming involved.  I got over the hill and it looked like only the P38 was after me.  He overshoot, we did 3-4 revolutions of a rolling scissors, and then you guys caught up.

As always though, it was in fact your superior flying that got the kill.  .

I never saw a 190.. any 190.

And I would like to add that I'm not off base, nor am I wrong.  I could give two toejams and a giggle what the diddly I just killed... what would you call a 3 on 1?  And that is just your admittedly odd version, in which I was trying to out spiral a 190....

diddly this.  I'm done.  Bask in your glory guys, all of your kills were just plain awesome on me.  All of you guys outflew me, the result would have absolutely been the same had the numbers been different .

And no Wabbit... I didn't HAVE to check the stats to know I'm a better pilot than you.  I could pretty much look at the AK in front of your name.  There are three guys in your squad that have my respect.. and here is a hint.  You aren't one of them.

Nah, just done in general.  There is no way I can compete.  Y'all are the penultimate in individual pilot skill, judgement, SA.. and wit to boot!  Maybe, one day, I can aspire to be an all around good human being like you.  Until then, I guess I can only hope to emulate you by flying an La7 and cherry-picking away.  Here's to you, Wabbit.  .

Guess I'll join the legions of La7 drivers that fly in straight lines only.  Died several times today....  I died once in a one on one.  I guess it really is just to much to ask of the slavering kill hungry gang rapists to cool down.  HTC, when can we get some larger maps?  I mean like 17,400 by 17,400.  Of course, the map size doesnt matter since all it will mean is more empty space, with the same ol gang rapists flying around in clumps of 50 attacking undefended bases.

Well, at least now I know how some really 'good' pilots maintain their scores.

Well, Urchin, you're getting pretty wound up over nothing. :)   Warp usually flies a d9 for JABO, but it's certainly possible he was in something else.  It may well have been a p38.

When you killed the goon, you had 3 or 4 guys (including me) close to you.  All pursued briefly, but your superior speed discouraged the others quickly.  As we went over the hill, the others had long given up the chase and only warp (d9/p38/whatever) and me (110) were in pursuit.

I was maybe d2.0 back when warp closed with you and forced a reaction.  I quickly closed.

And yeah, you're still off base and wrong. :)  You don't kill my squadmate in a goon and expect me (or warp) to easily give up, do you?

Further, a base capture was about to happen and a second goon was nearby.  Did you expect me to stand back and let you and warp have a good ole 1 v 1?  What if you won?  I sure as hell couldn't catch you in the 110. :)  It seemed like a good idea to kill you and guarantee you couldn't kill the other goon. :)

I'm not sure what this is about, but surely it isn't about guys protecting goons or running down planes that have just killed a squadmate flying a goon.

Hell Urchin, if you're concerned about "fair fights," what are you doing shooting a goon?  It can't shoot back.  Why did you do that?

Let me guess, I'll bet you shot the goon to prevent a base capture. :)  I and shot you to assist in a base capture.

Urchin, the name of the game in the main arena is base capture.  I suspect many would like an arena where they could have an infinite sequence of 1 vs. 1s.  And that would be fine, but it wouldn't be the main arena.  I guess it would be called a "Dueling Arena." :)  Don't we have one of those?

I'm not basking in any glory, but it was surely a most excellent base capture and all bish high-fived over the capture.

For any of you really interested on experiencing what is being gangbanged all the time and from all the fronts even by extraterrestral forces, join the rooks. Lately, even a Gozzila (perked) and King Kong are ganbanging us.

Holy cow, this all seems vaguely familiar- dejavu (S! AKs!) if you will.

Urchin, I had precisely the same outburst from you the other night when I killed you, a result of what had been an even fight. Sure, I was in an La7 that time, but if you check my stats (dolomite) for a few tours back you will see my preferred ride is the 190A5. I had been smacked a few times and took the plane up out of desperation to defend a base it appeared you guys were about to overrun. Two previous Hurri sorties had given me quick deaths without a prayer of a return shot. I had the experience of coming in low with 8-10 enemy above me, and they took turns whacking at me. It was my fault for putting myself there, I took it like a man and kept my mouth shut. It was clear the base was in serious trouble, hence my decision to up something that could compete from disadvantage against the many P-51's inbound.

Now, I'm sure in your mind you were gangbanged, but the fact is you weren't. Eventually it did work down from even odds to the 4-2 you described, because your boys lost the fight and you were all mopped up by us that particular time. Then, when your boys did arrive in force on our base, you were in an La7 cherrypicking. No problems, war is hell. This of course didn't prevent you from filling the buffer with garbage about being raped even as your team was in the act of doing the same thing. You postured on for some time about how "noone would go to the DA with you". No kidding. Who would want to give someone acting like a jerk what he wants?

For the record (and to Wabbit's credit) I have flown with and against Wabbit in at least three sims, and I have seen him fearlessly throw himself into multiple cons and win many times- in fact, it was a trademark of his in one sim. You may not respect the AKs, but they do fly well together and if you meet a pack of them, you are going to take them all on- just like many other squads in the arena. Here's the difference though- if you happen to catch an AK alone and kill him, though he was surrounded by many unfriendlies, you aren't going to see the open channel explode with details of the unjustice that just occurred, challenges to go to the DA, or posturing of how good he really is.

The only good thing I can see here is that you finally took this garbage off the open channel- or are you still doing it there, too?

Hmm... very "LW ish"...  Huge whine that somehow manages to get in the point that....

Not only is he being picked on but that everyone is mean to him and that he is a superior pilot flying a plane that obviously takes the most skill to fly.   He could easily vanquish everyone in a "fair" fight if only the fights were arranged so that acceleration and climb were the most important factors and that all the other 400 players did not exist or.... waited patiently in line to fight him.

A whining martyr... somehow that just comes off wrong.

Want me to take on two SpitIXs, 3 Me109s, a Niki, 2 Me110s, and 2 Hurricanes in my 109E?  No way.  Not only would I never win, I wouldn't even have any fun.  And THAT is the problem with the whoopee MA.  It doesnt seem to MATTER to people that there is only ONE enemy plane that is ALREADY engaged with 5,6,10,15, whatever numbers of friendlies.  They'll dive right in and give it a go.

It makes flying anything slower than an La7, 190D9, or P51 (barely) a complete and total waste of time.  Because you are either one of those 27 losers flying as a pack looking for the one guy stupid enough to fly in 'your' sector, or you are that one guy who has to take on 27 losers that don't know their bellybutton from a hole in the ground- and are proud of that to boot.  At least in one of the above-mentioned planes, you can perhaps get a kill and then outrun all but the fleetest gang banging rutabagas, who you can then fight at a more manageable 2 or 3 on 1.

Oh, and by the way amazinhunks, this is STILL a whine.

Allow me to add my whine:

I can sympathize. Last night at 61, I arrive over the field with several other Rooks. There are about a dozen enemy fighters milling about over the field. Naturally, I roll in and see my team-mates follow. As I slash into the defenders, I check my 6 to see where my fellow Rooks are. They are nowhere. To a man, they bugged out. So, here I am in the middle of the horde, with no cover whatsoever. I got two before the swarm nibbled me to death. Annoyed, I up Hellcat from our nearby CV and head in again. Same result, my so-called "friends" all skedaddle and I fight it out alone. Getting one before being swamped. Now I'm really pissed, and I castigate my fellow Rooks for their yellow streak. Meanwhile Mathman and a few others arrive and wade in, knocking down several of the enemy. I up a Seafire and return. While working on finishing a Mustang, one of the cowardly dweebs, who refused to fight, tries to steal the kill by diving in from his safe height. I sprayed him with .303 just enough to cause him to break off (no damage to either of us, just enough pings to get his attention). I finish off the Mustang and harass the "kill stealing dickhead" (as I referred to him in the message buffer) with check 6 calls until he leaves the area.

I'm really becoming intolerant of those rutabagas who refuse to fight unless they can gangbang. It reflects their utter lack of skills and fear of facing off 1 on 1. More and more of these geeks seem to be showing up (I'm sure the Knits and Bish have their share as well). You will never see these humps in the CT, where massive gangbanging is less common, simply due to the lower number of aircraft. Usually, they fly fast fighters. That allows them to run away from any fight they can't win, which means any fight where they may have to demonstrate some basic ACM skills.

Maybe HiTech can turn off killfighter for 1 hour a night so that we could properly instruct the rutabagas in basic manners.
