Questions on the Typhoon

Heya orel

Having a great time in the tiffie this tour- i seem to be getting kills left, right and centre.  I even shotdown HT:D  he even said what a nice rope it was.

I dunno what's up with me this tour but i seem to be really lucky when i need to be.:)   The amount of times i've checked my 6 just as a con is diving on me, or a squadmate has helped me out in the nick of time etc....

I'm having lots of fun punishing rooknits with 4 hispanos this tour.:p

Tiffy is very simple to fly..

Although good for B&Z i rarely use as such. Love to T&B with it. Use lots of rudder for any kind of turns or rolls. Use its stall to your advantage. Stall & rudder can give you a quik turn and instant lead shot. This leaves people scratchin there heads askin, How that Tiffy out turn my Spit.

She take time to get back to speed on the deck, again use the slow speed and stall on deck to let the 190s over shoot then roll out for a quik shot on them.

Some one mentioned not to take her over 20k.. Dont take her over 15k. I travel between 10k & 15k and use her as bait. Ill give any hi con my 6 and work them down to the deck.

It was mentioned that the La7 can give the tiffy a hard time, this is true, but work on the over shoots and youll start popin La7s in no time. Still be wary if alone and you have La7s around. No other planes you really need to worry bout.

Dog out..........

The Typhoon is a great plane but it's one that requires to you be a have a bit better than average skills to get the most out of.  It tends to surprise a lot of people with it's speed down low,  high speed turn rate, and cannons.  Then again, it rolls like a pig, accelerates slowly, and La7s can catch them given enough time.  It's a real BnZ bird where you MUST keep your speed high or you'll get caught too easily.  Try and plan you actions just that little bit sooner in a Typhoon than in an La7.  Realize that little bit earlier that you need to leave, or change tactics.

I've always loved the Typhoon, before the roll rate reductions it was even better, but it is still a fine bird.

It's a retarded tempest, but it's also the best non-perked fighter the RAF has modelled in AH.

Orel i dunno what you did to me but after seeing you in MA last but i wasn't good.  10 mins after saying hi to you i got chased by  5 cons and got shotdown (although 2 of them killshootered themselves:D ).  The sortie after that i was going for a front quarter shot on a p51 when he warped from d500 to d200 towards me.  Needless to say i rammed the poxy thing!!!

Whatever you did don't do it again!!!:D

Hmm its strange..... I always thought its only happening to me. You know that think with flying OK killing everything at will... And then, all of the sudden Orel enters the arena and from that moment on I just keep on dying.... and dying... ? Seems like Orel brings some negative vibrations to the arena... :D :p

Hey! Typhoon is not retarded!!! Its just a freeware version of Tempest thats all... Something like 'try before you buy' :)

I miss the 1.02 typhoon . I would rack up great kill streaks in it  and I very rarely ever saw another typhoon in the air. Also at that time it was the fastest plane on the deck .
