Some favorite Movie Quotes
« on: April 20, 2000, 12:31:00 PM »
A couple of my ALL-TIME favorite movies and a small sampling of my demented sense of humor:

Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb (1964) The Script] and for a brillant description of Dr. Strangelove;

General "Buck" Turgidson (George C. Scott) speaking to the President of the United States Merkin Muffley (Peter Sellers)
"Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed, but I do say no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops, uh, depending on the breaks."

Thanks for the  memories!  Was  reading down a bit  from your quote and couldn't help but think of Clinton when I read this:

"Perhaps it might be better, Mr. President, if you were more concerned with the American people, than with your image in the history books."[/b]

Amen, brother Daddog.  Rip is first rate in my book. By the way, another favorite movie qoute of min is from "2010: A Space Odessey II" the sequel to the original "2001: a Space Odessey."  Roy Schieder's charactor says: "A leader can be wrong; he just can't be indecisive." Being a commander of a US Air Force unit, I'm especially fond of this one.

Thanks Daddog, Rojo.     However, I am a minority in the state of Washington.  On inauguration day, Jan. 1993, we had a storm in Washington state Puget Sound area, 70 mph winds, it was terrible.  I told my wife that it was the "Man" up above punishing the left-wing voters for electing the Pres.

Seriously, I have nothing against  the left, except the constant hipocrasy.

Columbine student in a live interview with Clinton last week, that didn't get too much press coverage, probably due to this question:

Columbine student: Mr.President...when was  the last  time you ever saw a gun jump up off a counter and kill someone by itself?

Clinton: Utter silence. No response...next question was  asked.

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.

Gun Control activists: "Guns kill people!"

Anti-Gun Control Activists response: "No! People kill people!"

My 8 year old cousin's innocent remark when he was reading that: "I thought people with guns killed people..."

Now who can contest that?
