$50,000 dog!
« Reply #15 on: April 23, 2002, 05:11:30 PM »
Economically that does not make sense - $50,000 could have been used much more efficiently - to save the lives of many dogs, for example.
But that was not supposed to make sense economilcally. People just wanted to spend some money - few dollars each. I am sure they did not spend their rent money to save that dog.

Mighty, what's wrong with a group of private citizens spending their money any way they want? Why are you concerned who is in charge or that they should be put in jail?
Why do you believe that they should care about any needs, wether of few or many, instead of doing what the heck they want with their dollars?

If you love counting money in other people's pockets and deciding what they should or should not do under threat of prison, you may want to check Cuba as a place of residence - with such mindset you would fit right in with those freaking commies.

Hey miko2d I was responding to Elf's comment about the boat Captain.
My comment was just as retarded as Elf's but it was to prove a point which was obviously lost on you.

I don't really think anyone should go to jail.

BTW I knew Cuba had Commies but I wasn't aware that they had mutated into the "Freaking" type. :p

Mighty1, You call me a moron...and I embrace you. You call my comments retarded...and I kiss you. See, I am not on some steroid-induced macho trip from eating red meat the way you seem to be. I love all my Earth Mother's creatures, but I prefer to come to the defense of animals because there are so many Republicans whose agenda is to cut all our trees and kill all our animals.

It is so typical of you right wing nut burgers to state you think we should have sunk that ship rather there was a dog on board or not rather than even attempt to raise funds in the private sector to save this splended animal, but you know what? You lost, Mighty1. See, more people like me were willing to donate money to save the dog than there were people like you who hate animals and animal lovers like myself and my associates with PETA who wanted to see the dog die. Do you think people would come to your aid the way they came to that dog's aid? I wouldn't.

It must be tough to have lost the way you did, but I love you, Mighty1, in spite of yourself. After all, we are all the Earth Mother's creations and provided we follow the covenant to never use anything made out of styrofoam or plastic and to always vote Green She will watch over us and our hemp plants will blossom.

Peace out, my friend.

Alright, Elf, step back from the bong. That has to be one of the most inane and conflicted comments I have seen in quite some time...

You love him, but wouldn't come to his aid if he was stranded on that ship?

Vote Green and don't use styrofoam?

Hey bud, those comments cost you some money. When I read them I doubled over laughing, accidentally knocking over my Subway coffee. I cracked the foam cup when I grabbed at it, and instinctively reached for the nearest object to clean up the spill. This being the plastic bag my double roast beef sandwich came in, all I accomplished was to smear the coffee all over my desk. Heck, I even lost my newspaper (and I'm really peeved about that one, because I was reading a great article about how the Republicans want to clearcut some virgin timber and start drilling for oil- a great idea, if you ask me).

The way I see it, your comments are going to cost you roughly $10. I don't accept checks, but I do take plastic. ;)

HEHEH! Good one Kieren!

As usual Elf your delusional.

Not once did I say I hated animals(I had a tasty one a few minutes ago) or wanted to cut down trees or wanted that dog to die nor did I ever say I was even a Republican.(I am more Republican than Democrat) No it's just more of your inane ranting.

I guess mother earth is providing you with the electricity to run your computer and the gas for your car?

I guess that only applies to OTHER people. I understand ...save mother earth unless it some how inconveniences you.

Puh-leeze!

PETA is a political action group that supports the use of taxpayers money to further their wants. I didn't click on the url, but the simple introduction of the name PETA is an indication of the level of inteligence on this thread. PETA  IS a socialist group that uses terrorist tacticts to further its political agenda. Any doubts can be aleviated by simple research into AP reports, most of which have never been reported.

PETA stands for PEOPLE for the ETHICAL TREATMENT of ANIMALS. Now why in the hell are so many of you against treating animals ethicallY??  As far as funding goes it's all from the private sector, so don't even try to claim your tax dollars are getting ripped off.

Admittedly some PETA members are passionate about their beliefs, and many of us feel the ends justify the means when it comes to accomplishing our agenda, but animals can't talk for themselves...they NEED us to be their advocates.

As usual the Republiclowns are up in arms because those of us more compassionate than they felt good over the story of a little dog being saved after 19 days adrift at sea. Don't you conservatives hold ANYTHING sacred? even LIFE?? I'm throughly disgusted with the lack of respect shown for the sacred life of a little dog. Don't you know ALL life is a gift from our Earth Mother and is sacred? Sheeesh, I'd say more but I'm late for a pro-choice rally. You guys amaze me with your lack of respect for life.

As I recall, PETA was all up in arms a couple years ago about the Air Force Academy buying rabbits for the cadets to eat during their survival training.  Each camp of approximately 10 to 15 cadets is given 2 or 3 rabbits, so they can learn how to kill, skin, and cook it.  Tell me Elfenwood, would you rather have those poor starving cadets tromping all through the woods, inadvertantly killing lots of plant life, looking for an animal to capture and then kill and eat, knowing that they probably aren't very skilled at trapping on their own and might be a little less humane about it, not because of any malicious intent, but out of the sheer need for survival?
