$50,000 dog!

Kirean, the reason I would rescue a dog off a boat and leave the man, if my rescue vessel is limited to saving only one of them, is because the man CHOOSES to go to sea and the dog had NO CHOICE but to go to sea. The little dog we helped saved was a victim of man's cruelty. Go ahead, make jokes about the sausage and steaks you eat, but you won't be laughing when your arteries clog up and you get colin cancer. Eating animals is more unhealthy than using heroin and should be just as illegal.

But red meat is my addiction! It's like crack; I can't get enough. Sure, I lost my job, my wife, my family- heck, there ought to be a program for people like me. Lord knows I shouldn't have to be responsible to take care of myself- that's the government's job.

You know what's great about toy poodles? They can't fight back when you beat their butts for soiling the carpet, and you can do it in the privacy of your own home. Heck, if you go too far you can eat the evidence! :D

I would love to see the look on your tree-hugging butt if a Coast Guard cutter picked up a dog and left you sitting on the overturned carcass of a boat... ;)

Sikboy- yeah, he's trolling, but the responses are too easy to pass. Just having fun.

Used to love the Sunday gridiron action, watching the pigskin getting passed with such beautiful precision...

...is there anything better than a catgut tennis racket?...

...ah, 'tis spring, and just hearing the crack of the wooden bat against the ol' horsehide sends chills down my spine...

...some guys like wooden handgrips on their pistols. Me, I'm partial to ivory...

My Brother Kieran,

First of all, if I were adrift at sea with a dog and a rescuer could only take one of us I would insist that the dog be rescued before me.  Now I know it's a strange concept to actually be responsible for our stewardship over the animals, but as the keepers of the Earth we are responsible for keeping her as pristine as possible. Many of us in PETA take this responsibility seriously.

Don't you see the terrible blood lust you have developed because of your red meat addiction? The only reason you prefer ivory handled pistol grips is because something had to DIE for you to get them. You seem to live in an orgy of red meat and death for your amusement which is contrary to the teachings of our Earth Mother.

I personally eat seeds and nuts because they have not been born until they actually sprout. This is in keeping with my pro-choice stance- these seeds and nuts are plant fetuses and therefore simply unviable tissue mass, like any fetus, and thus are OK to eat without harm to Earth Mother.

I will light a blue Peace Candle in your name tonight and chant in incantation to help you overcome your death-deamon addiction to red meat and decay. I will also light a yellow colin candle to help unplug you and make you more regular. Kieran, there is still help for you if you really want it. I'm there for you, my brother.

I'd rather you eat one of those unborn fetuses that was aborted, considering the fact by your definition they are food anyway. ;)

Zigrat, Who is the sick one here? First of all I wasn't talking about abortion, so all I will say on that topic is that I don't feel I have the authority to tell a woman she MUST give birth to an unwanted child. IMO, to feel like YOU have the moral authority to sentance a woman (or young girl, in many cases) to give birth to a baby is much sicker than the pro-abortion crowd.

My response to Mighty1's contention that we should have just let the dog die once he finished consuming the carcass of the dead Indonesian seaman, agreed to by so many on this thread, was that respect for life encompasses ALL of Earth Mother's creatures, from humans to animals to fish to plants even.

We are a society governed by laws, and as long as abortion is legal I can eat seeds and nuts with a clear concience. Between apples, seeds, nuts, raw cow's milk and breathology techniques I'm in excellent health and, in fact, can even poop on command. Let's see you red meat eaters do THAT, huh?

One misconception of PETA is that it's a leftist orginization. Nothing could be further than the truth. While it's true there's more Democrats than Republicans in the general membership, the more fervent members- those of us who commit acts of terrorism against meat processing plants and pet stores-  are Republican flag-waving George W. Bush supporters who happen to love animals. Thank Mothers Nature and Earth for the right wing extremists within PETA who are willing to risk imprisonment to call attention to the shameless exploitation of our wildlife.
